I know that this has been tried before but now all three airlines have lots of new blood and maybe now is the time for all three MEC's to get together OUTSIDE of National and start working together on a variety of issues. I wish this had worked when I was there and we were close, much closer when that guy before Sam Poole was your MECC, SP recognized its benefits. BTW he (pre SP) is the reason pdt has your 145s now. My point is this, there is no better time for the three of you to speak with one voice.

Just a thought from someone that has been through it all and knows it had potential then, so much so that LM the then President of ALPA took SERIOUS notice and did everything he could to stop it. You guys have a real chance of changing the 3 airlines into places people fight over to go to.

This sounds good but unfortunately we don’t all play nice. It would probably fall apart quickly when one group decided they could sell out the other two and realize some gains for themselves only much more easily and quickly than holding the line together.

It’s illegal under the RLA and you would quickly find the organizers under a court order to desist followed by heavy fines. ALPA is a association and not a union because of this provision. Each airline must maintain there own union and can’t collude amongst other airline unions. ALPA can provide support in negotiations but negotiations among airlines can never be combined.

So a shi+ from alpa national. But national does not back away from squeezing a regional mec or threat to take them in receivership. National is worse than a politician if that can even happen.
