Depends on the base and equipment. Some 21-23 hour 4-days in DFW 175. MIA 145 has 27 hour 4-days.
But average is around 18.

[QUOTE=shinydiscoballs;2957963]I can't wait more then 3 years for the flow honestly, a lot can happen between now and then with too many negative variables; now the decision comes to which one Omni or Kalitta. I can be a captain in 3 years at either company and make some serious coin to support my family.

The 3 year or less upgrades at Kalitta are probably over. There are many young pilots already here able to upgrade tomorrow if a bid would present itself. We are storing 2 744 BCF's soon and have had some other news recently that may cause us to store a few more. While still a great job and I'm not predicting any crew shrinkage I think the days of 90+ hour months and rapid upgrades may be over for the foreseeable future.

$100K is $8,333/month. Using round numbers of $80/hr and 75 hrs a month is only $6000. Even if you add in $800 for per diem (high number) 401K matching of $250 (also high) and profit sharing and performance bonuses $200/month average (no chance) That’s still short almost $1100 a month. Where is your extra money coming from? I just want to know where I‘m going wrong so I can have a little left over to blow on the frivolous stuff the ex wife thinks I was doing before I got divorced.

My 401k marching was more than what you posted, and hourly pay is more than 80/hr, add in vacation and training pay some months, I was just short of it. Add in anything above guarantee, OT, etc and you’re there.

That being said I was surprised too but sure enough my end of year pay stub is just short of 100k, and as I said all min credit all year. If you were to add extra hours or OT, seat lock bonus, etc. it would be higher. We’re not endeavor so I wouldn’t say everyone’s making good money but with a couple years seniority it’s not difficult either.

Well, now I’m really confused because you said 3rd year pay, but you also said it was more than $80. And you said vacation pay, which is part of regular hours for the month, unless you worked it, which would be OT. If you are making more than $80 hour, your 401k matching would be more, but it’s only 3.5%.

I do admit I didn’t count seat lock pay in the equation, as that is close to $400.

That would definitely effect the ability to bust $100k
didnt realize things had deteriorated that badly.
man, they’ve wrecked the place even more than I thought.

he says Hes 39. He will be 41-42 when he flows. AA upgrades are coming down to 3 years in the junior bases. If I were him I’d run a spread sheet comparison. The pay scales are all published. Run one going to Omni this year and upgrading next year, vs going to AA in three years and upgrading in three more. Add in the AA 16% direct contribution vs an Omni 5% match capped at $10k.

Over the 26 years he has left he will be much farther ahead financially at AA. If he values large blocks of time off and can handle one or two longer trips each month instead of 4 or more trips, then go to Omni. K4 allows you to make more than Omni, but you’ll fly a lot more to do it.

If it were me at his age, I’d focus on Delta, United, Fedex & UPS only at this point and then flow as a backup. If I were a 40+ new hire or first or second year FO, I’d take any of the LCC’ or K4/Omni. Waiting 5 more years to flow, then 3 more to upgrade.... you’d never catch up. Plus the QOL is so much better out of the regionals.

my very worst day on reserve here has been better than the best day at Envoy. Can’t say enough good things about Omni, especially when compared to Envoy. Always been a tell it like it is kinda guy, even when people may not like the message.

I’m holding a schedule now of about 4-8 flights a month with the other 6-10 reserve days in either Vegas or Honolulu. Other guys with my seniority are holding 8 flights and reserve days in Vancouver or Honolulu. I basically go on company paid vacation each month to two of the hottest vacation destinations around. I typically bid the one long trip and work it to get at least two-three weeks off over each transition. Its definitely a great job.... but, if I were 39 in his shoes I wouldn’t throw away AA for anything less than Delta United Fedex & UPS.

if I were a prospective employee, I would steer far away from anything you said just based on your attitude and the way you talk down to literally everyone. I’m guessing I’m too new to the forum to realize you’re probably just doing an ironic schtick or you’re just an alter ego or a troll but if this is you in real life, you’re a real piece of work.
