Here ya go! From RW

Wishing you the Happiest of Holidays!

As 2019 draws to an end, it has been yet another remarkable year for Envoy. Year over year we have seen a steady increase in daily operations and the number of aircraft that we fly, further solidifying our position as the largest and best American Eagle operator for American Airlines. This growth coupled with the high number of pilots advancing to American Airlines has created a fast moving seniority list, where time to Captain is only about two years from date of hire. This year we also reached a new agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association that provided a significant increase in pilot pay rates and even higher flow-through rates, further accelerating the timetable for all new hire pilots to more quickly reach their ultimate destination at American Airlines. Last week, the 2,000th Envoy pilot flowed to American Airlines to continue his flying career at the mainline, marking an impressive milestone for Envoy and the industry as a whole. In fact, since 2014, Envoy has provided 50 percent of American’s new-hire pilots.

As we look ahead to 2020, Envoy is set to continue its growth pattern with more aircraft, more departures and more block hours. This growth along with our expectation that a high number of our pilots will continue to advance to American Airlines will continue to drive the need for a large number of new Captains and new hire pilots next year. Not only will we continue to see short times for upgrade to Captain, but we will also see reduced time to AA – where in 2020 we are projecting flow-through pilots will reach five and half years from date of hire. We will be making some major investments on the flight deck as we are set to undergo an Electronic Flight Bag refresh where we will transition to the new iPad Air 3 along with a new case mounting system. As well as, migrating to a new Distance Learning platform that will now be compatible with our Electronic Flight Bag and no longer require the use of a desktop computer. All of these enhancements are possible due to your hard work and professionalism in providing a safe, reliable and efficient service for American Airlines. Keep up the good work.

For all of you who will be working over the coming weeks and days, my sincere thanks for your hard work, ensuring our passengers reach their holiday celebrations safe and sound. It’s a very special thing we do, connecting people to those who are most important to them – and it wouldn’t be possible without your efforts!

I hope you will find time to spend with family and friends in the coming days, celebrating and reflecting on our many blessings.

All the best to you and yours – happy holidays and have a very Happy New Year!

Best regards,

can these be used with Verizon wireless with a new sim card, or are they ATT compatible only if we wanted to keep cell data function?

Since it’s provided by the company they dictate who the cell provider is and Apple locks it into that carrier

What iPad would you use then? I agree Verizon is better than ATT but it’s not like we’re paying the data bill lol, would you use your own? I have no idea if we can or not I never really looked into it.

Which is why I was asking if the one we "kept" is the one we've been actually using. Mine's far newer than 5 years and is in pretty good shape. But if I send it off for the security wipe and I get someone else's clapped out 5 year old iPad, I'd be ****ed.

Same, but if RW said new an updated refresh of the efb program with NEW iPad Air 3’s (aka the current one on the market being sold as “iPad Air” on Apples website) than I expect it to be very new. I’m not gonna be surprised if it’s not new nor upset, but that’s just how the email was worded and I’m watching closely on accountability on that email
