Was there really anyone within 15 months of flowing that this applies to? I’ve heard there were some that were out on LOAs that hadn’t upgraded, but they should have been able to get whatever their seniority would hold when they came back. If they choose not to take a captain seat, then no pity.

There couldn't have been a lot. I was looking at the latest union list and there are very few FOs less than 1.5 years from flow and that's not even taking into consideration that not all of them may be qualified.

Many of us are on Mil leave and flow next year. Some of us haven’t upgraded yet. When is the next Vacancy bid coming out? July?

They are usually every 3 months (think the last one was 4 months though) but we were talking about those that didn't bother to preference bid hoping to get displaced. I really don't know the ins and outs of Mil leave so I might be wrong but I don't think you can bid anyway if you're inactive so that part of the discussion doesn't really apply to those that are currently out.

Next one should be in April. Need to be in active status to bid.

If you have been out on mil leave for that long, and not upgraded, it has been by choice. And like I said in my previous post, when you come back from mil leave you can get whatever your seniority will hold. Not sure on what that does to seat lock, but if you’re already danger close to flowing, you shouldn’t be worried about that and you’ve had plenty of opportunities.

It includes a 12 month lock.

I wasn’t referring to that. I didn’t really state what I meant clearly. I was referring to whether or not it would be considered a preference or not and eligibility for the training lock and eligibility for the 5 hours of pay if you chose to accept it as such.
