Say NO to concessions. Let it burn

It took us almost 6 months to have a pay raise, and in weeks they want concessions? I wonder if the system is gonna take a long time to update our pay like it did with our pay raise.

I wish the pilot group had a vote on these “negotiations”. The last agreement got Envoy pilots additional flows and more money for the lifers, who was part of the negotiating committee? Lifers and guys who were close to flowing and couldn't wait to get out because “one more month at AA on the back end is worth a lot more” blah blah

I’ve never posted on here, but from the events I’ve witnessed over the past few years, we really shouldn’t be having a concessions conversation on here whatsoever. Without a doubt, those in power read these forums and gauge what we’d be willing to deal with. Just saying!

The company will get its bailout so there is no need for us to give up anything.

As to the vote comment above, surprisingly it looks like we will get a vote although they will be shortening the window from 10 days to something else.

You'd think when you became a union rep you'd start to show some maturity. These are the pilots you "represent" and the way you decide to correct someone is to laugh in their face. Good going.

The majors have said even if they get a bailout they will only secure jobs until September 1. And I have a feeling were not included in that either.

He's not an Envoy pilot, he called Envoy pilots a bunch of amateurs, and posted a comment that is so far from reality that a laugh was an appropriate response.

Yeah I wouldn’t put anything past Envoy managment.

The optics on that look awful. They are most likely negotiating for Leaves if Absence, reduced flying lines, etc...

If this turns out to be an extended downturn then yes, the tune will change and I’d expect them to come looking for concessions. Being cheap will be important. For now, no. We aren’t quite there yet.

I believe this is correct.

Obviously, if this thing goes on for a year or more then yes the company will probably ask for concessions. But I think all the airlines are in a wait and see state right now. Most of the CEOs have even put out statements thinking this will only last a few months. What’s the point in asking for concessions now, when in a few months it’s very possible that hiring will be ramped right back up to where it was a few weeks ago and every new hire has options again? There’s no point even from a management perspective.

Come back to this thread near the end of May or middle of June and if improvements still don’t look likely anytime soon... then you might need to worry. For now, I don’t think management will ask for concessions anytime soon.
