Does anyone really believe Envoy management has any agency whatsoever? Pedro can't close NY. Pedro is a seat filler, and the AA playboys who are supposed to be making the call are probably riding out the plague on Maui or something.

There may be some hope, but I doubt NYC comes back at all, and in the unlikely event it does it will be in an even more greatly diminished form that may not be worth sticking around for. I'd decide now how long you want to be on the sinking ship. I realize that has sort of a negative connotation but for a pilot depending on what you want, it could be a way to wring some more QOL out of this mess, at least for a few months.

AA completely controls whether we have any flying out of NYC, but I doubt if they get involved in where we have crew bases.

If we had all our pilots based in HNL, AA would probably just ask the same two questions:
-Can you get flights out on time?
-At what cost?

In the scenario I imagine, AA has not yet communicated that Envoy and the 145 are done in NYC. Even though they've already told the shareholders.

Actually AAG does control where they want the WOs.

While it may not be official that the NY base is closing, it is a fact there is no flying and no aircraft there. I think despite looking at the ‘Voy through KoolAid colored glasses, even THKooj could see the NY base is closing.

"American doesn't compete in the East or West. All of the real American action is in DFW and ORD. That's why AAG is pulling Envoy out of NYC and MIA. Welcome to American!"

So the management didn't walk away from the AIP? Management didn't fire the crew from the ORD wrong turn incident (the captain got his job back)? Management didn't blow COVID off as a "small blip in human history?" Management didn't turn a blind eye to the former chief pilot in ORD? Management didn't just roll out a buyout program without any input from ALPA? Management doesn't think that places like the Holiday Inn SGF are bad hotels? Come one. Be real. The biggest problem with the management at Envoy is that they have been here forever. There's no new blood. Look at their seniority numbers. They only know the decades of abuse from AMR and AAG. They haven't worked anywhere else and refuse to believe that there are better ways to do things.

“Small blip in human history”. Too bad that didn’t get leaked to the press. What a moronic thing to say.

Even if this plague is with us until the end of the human race, do you really think the lockdowns will be?

I'd be surprised if any of this mandatory shelter in place, face covering, small businesses must close stuff is still going on in a year.

I'd be surprised if any of this mandatory shelter in place, face covering, small businesses must close stuff is still going on November 4th.

I fixed it for you.
