Seems like every airline is understaffed, line holders getting minimum days off, blatant contract violations, low morale, management planning flights they know they don't have the crews to staff properly, etc. Nobody seems happy, and the problems that caused the days long operational meltdowns over the holidays seem to be headed for getting a lot worse before they get a better. Even those that are lucky enough to get a job at mainline AA are going to be stuck doing initial training sims at midnight because management can't competently run an airline, so they're being set up for failure right from the start.

Not entirely sure what your version of better is supposed to look like, but ok.

Ironically, I think regional airlines are going to have to do something about flight attendant pay and conditions, possibly before pilots. Granted the qualifications for FAs are minimal, but finding some to stick it out past six months (again, more at the regional level) is starting to put a damper on things. Although, when AA had the cascading meltdown two months ago after the big wind event in DFW, it was the mainline FAs, not the pilots, that drove most of the cancellations.

For the love of god dont say his name. He will just spread to all the other forums after being done with this one.

Nah this place is a dumpster fire at this point. Not that any other regional is any better off right now, but anyone thinking they’re better off staying here for their retention bonus needs to reevaluate.

They’re gonna have some serious issues with all the senior FOs bailing after seeing their CAs getting abused every day.

Fact. We're stretched WAY beyond what we can staff already and adding planes.

No argument about being stretched too thin at the ‘Voy. but not adding any planes. There are still a few more 170s to get online but those are one for one swaps with 145s. As buddies stated, SKW is getting any new flying. Their management had the foresight to get dibs on the sim time at FSI that ENY thought they were being smart about giving up.

It has been a little more quiet than I thought it would be, but it was announced recently that we will be getting 3 new 175’s at the end of 2022/into 2023. We’ll see if the fleet plan changes to remove 3 145’s, but I would imagine that it will not right away.
