First year FO pay
Hello,
Was told that during training we get 75 hrs X 96$ an hr pay. (2025) Can anyone share what that $ looks like biweekly after taxes and Heath insurance have been taken out? Just trying to budget. Also, do we get a per diem during training? Please and thanks! |
The quick math is generally to multiply your gross by 0.75 - 0.80 to account for taxes and insurance.
That will get you pretty close. |

One of your calculations is 75 days the other is monthly. You have no idea how long training will be - some have gaps (long and lots of them), some go straight through. If you change the 75 to 30 in your formula, you’ll be spot on per-month.

I got a rough estimate of around the $9,000 mark for training. I can't remember where exactly I saw it but it was somewhere in ADP I think.

Hello,
Can anyone share what that $ looks like biweekly after taxes and Heath insurance have been taken out? Taxes will depend on what state you live in and whether you have a spouse, spouses income and any dependents. Health insurance also depends what you choose. most companies offer a low-cost, low-coverage plan and a high(er) cost, high(er) coverage plan. Insurance for you is much cheaper than spouse or dependents. As noted above, a web-based takehome pay calculator will get pretty close for the tax part. |

Do you mind breaking that down? |
