Just so it's clear- FO's can't bid from one jet to another, so if you get awarded ORD CRJ it'll be a long time before you get DFW based.

True but also expect more Displacement/Vacancy bids as we have to move FOs from the EMJ and CRJ as they leave. So any FO can Proffer to Displace and will probably will be able to move.

I can see pilots staying where they are until they upgrade or flow.

For awhile, they were letting new hires pick their equipment before showing to class. I wonder what ever happen to that. Seemed like a smart way to keep don't first day attrition. So far, the fleet realignment has provided plenty of "Proffer to Displace" opportunities that every FO that I've talked to has been able to go to whatever equipment that they have wanted.

Reserve

What is reserve time looking like at Envoy? DFW? ORD?

Good to know, thanks.

Two months! I started on the CRJ and two months later I got DFW EMB. With a new plane coming online and the CRJ/EMJ leaving there are likely to be displacements from them. Displacements more likely with the current state but impossible to judge how long it would take to get from CRJ to EMJ.

People will tell you that there are guys on reserve who have been here 3-4 years. Also that the people flowing now has been here 15-16 years. As a result, they will say you have to extrapolate the same for you if you came here.

If you have any specific questions, feel free to message. I'm always down for helping a fellow Illini.

Aren't they speaking the truth?

Tell us how long reserve is.

Tell us the seniority of the current flows.

Tell us the most junior Captain DOH.

Good Luck!

Swaps

anybody else not getting swaps approved for this month? Anybody know why this is happening?
I just don't get why an airline with 50+ FOs on reserve any given day, won't approve a swap. I'm not even asking for Thanksgiving day, or a day during Thanksgiving week.

What you are saying is true, however the 2.5/6 the company/union is selling is all based on projections. In the airline world it's best to work with facts. The current status is that upgrade sits at slightly under 8 years, while the current flow is mid 15 year seniority.

Similar to taking a job with a Part 91 company that has a Caravan but is "about to upgrade to a King Air 90." Until you are taxiing that King Air away from the FBO, you are still flying a Caravan.
