So why would this be appealing to a potential new hire? I have a friend at Envoy trying to get me to apply and is convinced reserve time and flow time will drop significantly.

Your friend is trying to get that referral bonus :D

Because you'll flow in 5 years..... Sit reserve for 4 years as an FO and flow to AA in 5. Awesome!

There does seem to be a discrepancy from what cujo, 404xyl, skyvector, and PilotCrusader have to say. Let's see how they respond before making any judgments though.

Good Luck!

Right now Reserve time is 4 years and increasing. Each month we have less lines and more reserves . Currently running at 35% reserves for FO's.

So a person who applies today and is offered a job faces the prospects of four years of not having a line? I guess that's why they are offering a signing bonus. Does Envoy simply have too many pilots for the number of aircraft they fly? Is that why reserve time is so long?

Mainly since we started shrinking in November 2011 due to BK, there has been stagnation all over. Parked the ATRs, the 135s, most of the 140s, 30 145s to other carriers, etc. As a result, shrinking through attrition has caused long reserve and upgrade times.

As for what a person can expect in 4 years, well, there are more than a few opinions on here as to what to expect. I'll let them chime in. Look for a guy named RJ Pilot - he really knows his stuff and always wishes you good luck. Good peoples.

Is your friend's name Judas, and did he mention anything about 30 pieces of silver? [emoji57]
