Don't be too sure about that! AAG wants these airplanes at the lowest bidder. Guess will see how piedmont votes ...

Call me ignorant but I didn't know they are currently voting on anything. When did that happen and what's the deal their voting on?

Nothing yet. They are in negotiations right now with AAG... Last I heard they're close but to a deal for re fleeting but are hung up on a couple major things. Who knows what will actually happen though...

Their MEC is hung up on a couple of different issues. The pilot group has made it clear it won't pass their vote...especially since AAG is offering them pay lower than even PSA.

Guess we'll have to wait and see, eh?

PDT will do the right thing, they're not amateurs. PDT are good people. I have no problem with them getting 175s as long as it is greater than or equal to envoy's current contract rates.

United may have some more for them to do. Maybe some 145s for American. But it won't be 175s.
The 175s may go to Compass, they may come here. Had a couple of Compass upgrades recently on the jumpseat who said instructors told them it would be difficult (but not impossible) for Compass to take more aircraft for the forseeable future due to training replacements for the Delta flow. The only way I see TSA getting them is as a 1 for 1 long term replacement for 145 flying in the near term. In other words we get AA 145s now and 175s at some point down the road. TSA is one of the oldest US Airways Express carriers and has a history with American. Wouldn't be surprised to see AA divide these 175 up between multiple carriers as Parker and company have expressed a desire for a portfolio concept with their regional flying. Then again, this could be some Hulas goat rope and we'll be announcing furloughs next month. Hulas will never bid on flying that will not make money. He will let someone else have it if AA doesn't meet his price, so you never know. Always interesting times here at TSA. |

Mesa isn't getting anything if the rumors are true of United pulling the plug on their 175 contract...

JO put in a crazy low bid to get those aircraft. Supposedly his sim time is costing 3 times what was budgeted. UA owns these airframes and will not put up with JOs games for long. Will be interesting to see if Mesa takes all these aircraft in the long term.

Things have been quiet for too long. My theory is TSA gets at least 20 starting in March.
