Envoy should sue ALPA...

No joke. Could you imagine any other industry where the union undercuts ITSELF to award work to another group of people under its own umbrella? Talk about a solid case for mis-representation. ALPA did not represent Eagle's best interests when they negotiated the PSA contract. I bet it could be argued they knew this would be the end result.

They'd certainly have a case.

I wonder if a regional-only union would improve things. There might still be the potential for undercutting, but it stands to reason that it would be less likely without the influence of the majors.

The "potential for undercutting" would be less likely if Hulas and JO couldn't staff their undercutting operations, and the recent concessions at Brownstreak weren't voted in to begin with...

Thank you for your contribution to the thread; unfortunately it's not the topic of discussion.

^^^^^This.

Exactly. Add to it that national signed off on two TAs in such AAG explicitly told you the terms they demand. Uncertain where you think ALPA is liable.

...says the former XJT pilot who just left XJT for Mesa in search of a quick upgrade.

No...they would not.

The bar for DFR is very, very high.

Folks often confuse ALPA National with ALPA *Local*...Locals like EGL and PSA, where individual pilots within that Local both negotiate their own CBAs (with assistance from National) and ratify or reject those CBAs.

EGL pilots *knew* contraction and even shutdown was a possibility when they rejected their TA. Having the hindsight of what happened to Comair, they rolled the dice and took their chances.

It sucks, but one cannot logically blame ALPA National for this without first and primarily casting "blame" where it truly belongs - the Local level.

Sure, but I'm pretty sure Moak's signature is required on these contracts. National endorses them. Hell, Moak was at the table for our BK contract at Endeavor. National could squash these contracts, but they don't. Shifting planes and destroying jobs is an abomination of union representation.

But they can.
