Anybody been able to crack the ALPA “interactive seniority list” that is far from interactive for the rest of us feeble minded pilots who are suppose to be the future of this gauntlet?

Are you using excel?

It works best on a 486 with windows 3.11

In all seriousness though, it really only works if you use excel and enable editing to be able to click through it and also enter your seat or employee number in the various fields.

There’s two different files too.

It works amazingly well if you have excel and know how to use excel.

Click on status type your employee number in there. It will show you how many junior and senior to you in all statuses.

It's a fantastic tool and the guy who takes care of it has long flowed to American.

Hell, I loaded Excel on my IPAD & also laptop. Enabled editing, saw the 2nd file/page, yet still unable to enter my employee number. Says it’s locked or some gibberish.

I’ll give it a go again, later on my other laptop maybe MS Excel on Apple doesn’t do it.

Yeah it doesn’t work properly on an iPad.

It’s been a month since the last one was published and the vacancy just came out, so I would expect and updated one soon.

Can someone explain how to send RF messages, where to find a list of RF messages, and in particular, how to request a hotel via RF, or at least how to request a commuter hotel besides Quicktrade?

I've exhausted resources I can think of, i.e., company website, ALPA guide, etc. I've only found some DECS codes.

Thanks!

Check this out. There’s also a handbook that can be purchased, but not sure where exactly.

Here ya go. Copy and paste this into your notes page on your phone/iPad for quick reference. To send an RF on the iPad, make sure you have cleared the screen. Then type the RF to pull it up. Then hit HOME, RESET, RESET, then TAB through and field. Once you have filled it out, TAB so your cursor is to the right of the SEND then hit enter.

Search back through the thread. There have been several explanations. DECS is archaic and very syntax picky. You have to clear the screen before starting with the RF code and the tab through. Easiest to have someone show you the first time if you haven’t used DECS a lot.

Or spend the $5 a month on quick trade. I balked at first as well, but it is a worthwhile investment. First two months are free. You will save $5 a month in aggravation just proffering and stand a better chance of finding trips while on reserve, picking up OT and later when you have a line, trading.

If you're not using quicktrade, you're leaving money on the table (and, no, I'm not affiliated).

That said, there are limits to quicktrade. You need to know how to use both mobilecci and fos. The post above with all the commands is a good starting place for fos. Feel I should add that when sending an RF message, after you hit enter, make sure you see the "DONE" message that should follow. If you don't, something didn't go right.

CrowneVic 06-24-2018 03:46 PM

Thanks, everyone.

I had a listing of most of the HI stuff, just couldn't find the RF items.

I do have Quicktrade, but as was pointed out, I still need to learn DECS, hence the question.

I saw "SEND" at the end of the swap RF request, but did not see SEND at the end of the RF 200C HTL request. Do you just put the cursor at the end and hit enter?

pitchattitude 06-24-2018 04:32 PM

RF messages

Also, a lot of the RF messages have to be “created” in DECS and then emailed. Especially with the Otter Box on the iPad, the tap to copy can be a challenge unto itself.

I just went and checked. SEND is the last option on the RF request for the hotel command. And yes, tab to the end after "SEND<" and hit enter.

Also, Quicktrade will request your hotels for you so that's one thing you can do in Quicktrade if you have it. Easier.

How long does it take to hold DFW as an FO for the 175 and for the 145?

It doesn’t matter because by the time it matters to you it’ll be different. 175 will take longer

At the bottom of every MEC news letter it gives a rundown of FO retention bonuses and the "window" you need to fall into in order to be eligible.

From my understanding they are at least greatly reducing the bonus given to HVA's. Obviously they would still like guys with prior 121 to go direct to CA.

That's the opposite of the impression I got from the decs page
https://jobs.envoyair.com/dec/

Says you qualify for 45k as a "near entry captain" with 500 121/135pic hrs

“Near entry captain”. Is that like (a little pregnant)?

It seems not everyone gets the full $45k. There’s a number of variables that go into it.

We all know it going to end. Once we get 40-45 FOs hitting 950 each month then the need for DEC will be minimal. 6-8 months and that may start happening.

Does an AA pilot still take priority for the FDJ on mainline metal if I were to list as a D1 and they were listed as a D2?

Yes. The FDJ seniority is irrelevant to what type of ticket you make.

Yes, they list as D2WP - primary or D2W(something like backup or secondary)
Doesn't have to do with the seats in the back, in that regard they are D2 by checkin time, but does reserve them the FDJ.
I have ridden the JS with both D2WP and D2WS listed and not showing up though

So only 10 pilots flowed from Envoy. Thought it had to be half the class or 29 pilots? What am I missing? Or is the flow being screwed up again?

There are multiple classes each month.

It's usually most flow on the first class followed by a few flowing in the last class.

Bigpimppilot 06-27-2018 03:26 AM

That 50% thing doesn’t exist anymore

Pretty sure it still does. It just gives the company the ability to limit it after 29 pilots flow.

If AA hires 10 in one month the we flow five.

Bigpimppilot 06-27-2018 05:39 AM

Your right. But if they hire 120 we have no claim to 60, unless out of pity they decide to send more. Which they could do at any time with any group if they wanted
