Does anyone know how likely new hires can get MIA base? And how do we get it...do we bid for a base when we get hired? Or airplane?

You bid for base and equipment. For example, maybe they will have ORD 175 and LGA 145 available, and you bid one of those. Miami is likely, but if it is not available in your class, you will probably be able to transfer pretty quickly once another vacancy bid is posted. The 145 is the only equipment in the Miami base.
Do you work there now? Thanks Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk |

I am from Florida and would love to be able to have MIA as a base..that is IF they hire me lol..I tried 1 year ago and they didn't hire me...offered me a job letter but after background they cancelled on me..I had 3 failures in the past..it might be that who knows.. I will try again next year...

Did you disclose all 3 failures in your application or did they find out about them after/during your interview?

I can't remember a bid where that line wasn't in there. It's just standard language but there will most likely be back fills.

This is opening a can of worms, I bet people within a year of flow will proffer to displace. Then the waterfall of displacements starts. It's not like the training center is already over saturated or anything. |

I believe the best thing to do is don't bid anything. That way, you'll be displaced and not have a seat lock if flowing in a year or less. If you don't fall in that window then proffer for upgrade.
The only benefit I can think of if you straight up proffer to go to capt is you'll go into training ahead of the displacements. No moving expense, but you do get move days if it's into a different base. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Maybe I've had one too many mimosas. But if you proffer to displace aren't you seat locked for 2 years if it's a new type??
