New hire pay is pretty much on par with other regionals. Yes they do need to increase the bonus. You will have a tough time finding a regional with a better contract! Good luck with your decision.

You haven’t lived until you’ve been through 3 months of XJT training on two paychecks worth $700 a piece. (Circa 2013)

Nearly everywhere has a better signing bonus. Look at Envoy, CommutAir, even Mesa. Mesa’s problem is it’s health insurance costs —- not it’s $36 per hour with 76 hour min guarantee.

It's definitely much better today. With the hiring bonus and retention bonus new hires can easily survive on first year pay.

You are not privy to the mainline ownership stake. If it turns out to be 48.9%, you’re not looking too smart.

Are they still doing double occupancy hotels at xjt for training? I remember that was the case in 2013 when I was there.

Nope... it’s single occupancy and has been for a few years.

Depending on what your background was prior to XJT. They are now offering bonuses for prior type ratings. In addition, to the sign on bonus. But, I believe the bottom line of all of this that my colleagues on here are trying to tell you. Is that whether you come here or go to a major your pay for the first two years is going to be low. Smart guys coming into this industry. Stash away as much money as possible to cover their bills and have some seed money for covering things when arriving for training.

XJT gives you your own hotel room with microwave. Depending on where they put you up you might get breakfast on the hotel. Once you figure out where they are putting you up. Depending on where you stay they will either drop you off or you can Uber. Go to Walmart, Sam's, Costco, etc and stock up on cold cuts, canned goods, and cereal etc. Plus, once you start IOE you are getting Perdiem. Eat on your Perdiem. If you get strategic on your overhead expenses before you arrive. You can survive.
