The Hogan
I clicked join the CPP more than three weeks ago and still haven’t received a link for the test. Pretty sure the page said the link would be sent within two weeks.
What gives? |

Yeah, there are guys that were eligible for the Hogan in May ‘18 that haven’t received the second shot yet. UA is taking their bittersweet time.

Supposedly, UA is instituting a “new” interview format. You’ll simply get an interview date where you will take the hogan, some sort of knowledge test, and then the panel interview.

Why would they waste the time arranging an interview if you haven’t taken the hogan yet? Just seems like half the people they get will get sent home day one anyway, why not just take it online ahead of time? Saves time and disappointment for everyone.

Also, too many idiot pilots have bragged online about their wives or others taking the Hogan for them. Pretty stupid if you ask me. Just what I heard from the head of recruiting. |

That’s what was said to me, directly from Susan White in HR. It will be a 3 part interview...Hogan, Aviation Knowledge Assesment, and then the panel. Each part will be “scored”.

The Hogan is dumb anyway. Lol. |
So it is going from 2 parts to 3? Not really progress, but it would be a step up if the Hogan wasn't an end all filter.
|
Hogan still seems to be there. I was given the option to "opt in" on it.

Does CommutAir, Whisky, and Mesa have access to the same CPP survey we got from the UAL MEC on the latest Jet Link?

Whisky hasn’t gotten a survey as far as I’m aware. Maybe our MEC has it but the general population doesn’t.

For those XJT pilots... what are the requirements/qualifications for the United CPP? So there's the Hogan right? What flight time/years with XJT is required to apply for the program?
Sounds like the XJT United CPP is similar to Endeavor's DGI...right? Looking for answers in order to weigh my options. |

PontiusPilot:
Thanks for the info. Already have the bachelors degree. For the TPIC I would imagine United would want 121 TPIC time or would military TPIC count toward that minimum? Thanks again. GB |

When is ExpressJet management going to move the hours down to CommutAir’s requirements in order to move on? Why are there two programs since these company’s are step-sisters?

I’m fairly certain that UAL dictates the terms. And the COMPANIES (plural of company) are not step-sisters. There seems to be a high likelihood of some sort of merge down the road, but for now the two aren’t associated with each other.
At CommutAir, a pilot must have flown either 1,000 hours as Pilot-in-Command -OR- 3,000 hours total in service to CommutAir. Since CommutAir is hiring street captains, a CommutAir pilot can go to United, theoretically, in just over a year after Captain IOE or just over 15 months after being hired there. Their record is just over two years from doh at CommutAir to doh at doh at United. Why would CommutAir’s pilots want to give that up in a merger of seniority lists? |
Don’t know. Don’t care. Not really my problem. I’m fairly certain the pilots don’t get to decide how a merger goes down, but I’m sure you’ll be happy to enlighten me.

Not really, but you seem to think they are going to merge. In other airlines’ mergers, there have been votes by the pilot groups on how the seniority lists merge. But, these weren’t step sister airlines and I am sure the rules are different.

It would speed upgrades at ExpressJet while giving CommutAir captains they are short of. |

You could also respond with an explanation of how the merger is allowed in the pilot contracts or per ALPA rules. I just explore these things to a level of understanding. It isn’t to disagree. If I was predicting, I would think the two regionals would be separated by base rather than a merger (because of the problems with merging a bunch of CommutAir one year seniority captains into Xjet’s seniority list). CommutAir just pulled a United management team member in as its new CEO. |
We didn't vote on the seniority list merge.
Can anyone say when a list merge was voted on? |

That is one way. I never disagreed with you completely. I just see obstacles in merging the pilots.

I really am only paying attention to ExpressJet’s forum to the extent the actions of your regional affects my job. When ExpressJet stops affecting my job, you won’t find me posting here. ExpressJet pilots used to wander over to Mesa’s forums when our actions affected your jobs. I don’t give a sh*t about AAL’s or DAL’s wholly owned regionals. I do ask questions. For example, how in the world does ExpressJet with its seniority problems expect CommutAir with one year captains to want to merge seniority lists? ExpressJet pilots say it is going to happen. So, guess what, if i **** you off, I might start posting here even more frequently. I could even write a script to post random messages here routinely just to **** you off more. It wouldn’t be hard. |

That’s okay. I do research airline contracts, spend time in financial reports, and listen (or read transcripts) to conference calls that affect my job. These only come along quarterly (usually). It doesn’t take a lot of time. There really are only three companies I am concerned with.

Personally, I have no problem with calmwinds. His conclusions and assumptions are sometimes wrong, but he makes an attempt to knowledgeable about the industry and I’ve never seen him rant like a child. For the sake of everyone else, a couple of you could really tone down the complaining. |
