Expressjet ATP/CTP
I’ve got my ATP/CTP coming up in ATL. Has anyone been through the process? What’s the ground school like? Are there any tests or homework during it?
I’ve been using Sheppard air to study for the ATP written. I was planning on really buckling down during the evenings after class to study. Is that possible? Or, will there be a lot of work for the actual ATP/CTP class?

I believe there are a couple of quizzes/tests involved with ATP CTP but it’s not difficult, and won’t involve a lot of study time.

The ATP/CTP class have nothing to do with the actual ATP-FW test itself. Its a "check the box" type of course. The instructors are mainly retired airline guys. It's "death by power point." They go over the slides/videos and you take a written test the day before you take the actual ATP written.
You will be scheduled for the actual written a few days before the end of the course. Make sure to get/negotiate a good time to take the test. Depending on what sim schedule you get you may end your last sim session at 0200 and have to take the test the same day at 0900.
I had already been studying for 2.5 months for the ATP written before I showed up to the class. I studied every night after class as well. I used Sheppard Air, used their strategies and passed. Two guys in my class began studying two weeks before showing up and they passed as well.
Good Luck!

Definitely start studying for the ATP prior to starting the course. It’s a huge question bank and a lot of worthless crap you’ve never heard of, nor will ever use.
I heard of “strategies” but if you take a bit of time to learn some of the calculation questions, they’re really quite simple pilot math. I hate memorizing...

I just called the number on the website and left a message. They called me back. I remember them asking about when I started class. I told them the end of January. I didn’t realize that was a limiting factor in how to get the software.
I never gave them an exact date. At least from what I remember.
