K, so all pilots either think this is a difficult job, or are so new / bad attitude that they don't realize it. thanks for clearing that up for me. I will go flog myself, then pick up more flying, and then complain about how I deserve more money because it's so hard. Thank you for the attitude adjustment, they will probably hire you to be a direct entry 787 captain at United with weekends off.

Not really sure how everyone digressed to whether or not a day-in-the-life of a regional pilot is hard or not.
2 things to add while we’re off topic. 1.)It’s not so much the job that’s challenging but rather the lifestyle. Junior reserve and senior line holder is night and day. 2.) Confidence, competence and experience vary greatly in all pilots. As an airline captain, it’s part of your job to build all 3 of these qualities within your FOs. If guys are complaining about the level of difficulty day to day, maybe some of the blame is on us. Compassion goes a long way. It’s not just one of those things you list on your personal qualities during an interview. |
So, to light this thing back up....what’s the latest?

Company trained 100 EMB 145 instructors for big growth in the 145 flying. I hear that Letter 2 will include significant pay increases to attract new pilots to the E145. Without big increases in pay, what new hire will want to fly a 20 year old crusty regional jet?
“Significant pay increases”? Any word as to how much of an increase? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Everything I've heard is mostly QOL improvements and in exchange the company is looking at PBS. Everything else is just rumors. As he did say, there is significant progress being made to increase our training infrastructure on the E-145 side with a third sim being brought in from Hobby in house to the training center to bring us back up to 3 sims again on the E-145. |

Pure hearsay. The union has only speculated that a contract will be made available to vote on by mid Dec. It will only not go to vote if they hit it out of the park (not expected).
