Yeah. I mean, if this was a viable option (50 seat jets in small markets), wouldn’t the big 3 just use some of their currently massively underutilized lift on it?

A portion of the senior pilots either retired or hired elsewhere. They can make Pilot/FA sign a cheaper contract in order to get recalled. Not sure what role ALPA plays in this scenario but rn management has all the chips.

Serious question, what assets does XJT actually own as far as aircraft, rotable parts, etc.? Was the certificate surrendered when they closed? If not, then would they not be in the same situation where they have a very senior pilot group who is paid at the top of the scale?

”our employees are our most valuable asset!” And we have a stock pile of surface 3s...

Reconfigure and do what JSX is doing. XJT can go international as well so there might be a niche market for it. Flying XJT’s tail and selling own tickets, also codeshare with a mainline instead of doing FFD exclusively.

Probably too good to be true but the 145 might be great for that.

Does XJT even have any birds on property? I thought all the 45s went to Commute Air

Id love to go back to work but this just seems like a cruel joke.

I thought that all of the aircraft that XJT flew belonged to United regardless of where they are currently parked. This idea sounds a lot like Independence Air, and we remember how that worked out.

With the start of Xtra and Breeze which seems to pursue the same business model, wouldn't it of been more cost effective for them to purchase our certificates?

I don’t recall the details, but wasn’t there some type of contractual requirement to take employees if the certificate was purchased? If that is the case, in a market flooded with experienced pilots, why would a start up want to have labor forced on them when they can be selective in who they hire?

Pretty sure this is why Breeze couldn’t buy Compass’s certificate. Wish XJet pilots the best, but doubt this is the answer.

Its a fragmentation clause and was gutted by the company and ALPA with the TPA between ASA and XJT. If it weren’t for that, many ASA pilots would be at SKYW now.
