there is a shortage of pilots at the regional level.... at xjt you will get used right now. You are better off with a floating relief line at xjt

For the past few months there's been virtually no reserve at SKW.

I consistently flew 90+ hours a month while on reserve in IAH. Kinda nice to utilize the agressive pickup window and choose trips you want out of open time.

Friend of mine in ORD tells me there's about 30 uncovered hard lines there.

with the aggresive pick up window and as shorthanded we are you don't "sit" reserve at least at ewr iah.

At SKW there have been very few reserve lines, since there is a lot of movement and new-hires and upgrades finishing IOE are available for reserve duty. Over the last year it's been pretty busy for those who bid it, but you can work it to your adavantage....

- Reserves are used system-wide, not just at their domicile, so you can negotiate with crew support to pick up trips closer to your home-town.

- Full flying month plus lots of deadheading, so you can credit 110+ hours.

-They staff up reserves for holidays...I bid reserve for January, flew a lot until the holiday rush ended on Jan 15th, then went skiing for two weeks. Got called once for a local turn. My only complaint was the snow s*cked. You might also be able to do this in early Nov, if there's enough snow.

Yep! Three weeks of reserve for me in FAT on the BRO. I will have a line next month!
