I was stuck in Cancun with like 20 bucks cash on me and no ATM card. They said they wouldn't take credit cards. I thought I was going to have to go ask my fellow passengers on the flight to Houston for money. How embarrassing! Anyways, the ticket agent magically found a credit card machine and processed it.

Just an FYI you can't list for CoEX flights. Only XJT can do that. Other regionals must list at the gate so I don't know where you'd fork over the money at. I guess you could call the line but they charge you $10 to use it.

Generally you go talk to the ticket counter first. Thats where they are going to collect the departure taxes. In Mexico it seems like there is no one at the gate until they are pretty much ready to board. 9 times out of 10 when you get to the airport working a flight out of Mexico, the agents meet you outside security or as you pass the ticket counter. The main exception is Mexico City. But there is always someone at the ticket counter, rarely someone at the gate.

dont go to the crew line in customs if you didnt work the flight. some stations dont even have a crew line. just wait in line for your turn and you can save yourself a huge headache if you catch a bad agent... good luck
