I have a lot of respect for SKW management. They have built up one of the strongest, best performing regional airlines in the world. Thats what I think, but seeing how nobody really cares what I think or wants to hear about how well an airline might be doing while their's is struggling to stay afloat, I keep my thoughts to myself :)

I agree. From a PURE business standpoint, they haven't made a crappy decision in the post 9/11 poop storm. It's too bad that much of the growth that SKW has experienced has come on the backs of their employees and at the expense of OTHER companies. As well as the effects it's had on OTHER groups trying to secure industry leading CBA's.

If you were at SKW during the "bain process"/UAL's BK you would know what I'm talking about.

Now before you (or anybody) else goes off half cocked, I'm not flaming you (or the SKW pilots), just pointing out a FACT.

Sorry, but to clarify, are you saying that SKW would use the 120's on branded or DelCon/COEX routes?

At the end of the day, the passenger ONLY cares about price. But the branded product has created somewhat of a loyal customer base, as limited as it may be. If the those people now have to ride on a turboprop with no XM radio, and SKW decides NOT to give the $1 beers and the same food or level of service, that limited customer base could drop off.

And NO, I personally have nothing against turbo props. But a healthy portion of the traveling public does. Makes perfect sense to put a more efficient aircraft on a low yield route. Besides, do you expect them to put the Aquafresh paint job on a 120? That would be some crap to see.

SBA-SJC, FAT-LAS, PSP-LAS and many many others are not DelConUni routes but SKW flies then as at-risk. I'm sure more are coming just like the new ones we just added in WY and OR. Whether or not, service is better than no service and $1 beers plus XM isn't worth a connection.

Just wanted to clarify what you meant

I believe he is just upset, because he thought RAH was going to be CAL's new baby, then they dropped all the CRJ's in IAH and now he won't have that base anymore. He ripped on us so much for having to have furloughs and he just can't accept it that we probably might not have any and RAH will have them first.

Lets leave the flames out of it, there is no point in flaming each other. To my knowledge he never got called for the interview thus he couldn't have been turned down. Like many of us, he took the first decent job he could and that easily could have been XJT. All of us could have just as easily have gone down different paths, timing and luck is everything in this industry. You two flame each other over and over and its pointless. I hope both of you get hired at the same major later on in your careers so you realize how pointless the fighting was.

TD doesn't know what's coming yet. :D You're still gonna see me sitting next to you in the future with my 5 stripes on telling you I can take care of the taxing from the right side.

By the way, thanks for stealing my avatar.

I just wouldn't be surprised if Mgmnt decides to start fly some of the routes that are not profitable enough for XJT to continue flying when you guys are forced to decrease your branded flying. Some of those routes will be very profitable on the 120. A little while back we started SBA to SJC so I’d expect SBA to LAS to pop up soon as well as a few others.

But Nevets, next time I’m in SGU I’ll ask Jerry seeing he always runs his ideas by me first.

Why are you rolling your eyes at me? I was confused about what you wrote and asked a question to try to understand you.

Anyways, you are the one who brought up the idea, not JA.

The point of this forum is to exchange ideas in an inoffensive and intelligent way. My last statement will undoubtedly rub some people the wrong way (even though it is just my opinion and is based upon decades of financial success and performance numbers) and in so doing I would be contradicting the tenet of trying not to offend people. My current employer suits me, just as I'm sure yours suits you. Live and let live my friend

I know, but the fact that people even believe this stuff makes me actually wonder if there really is anything in the water over at Skywest.;)

Just curious, but how can you say that with certainty? Do you know the guy or otherwise have access to the number of furloughs that might come XJT's way?

I know, it's pretty amazing the information that can be gleaned about someone online.
