Funny, you guys talk about lucky line holders and such. At L-XJT we have a similar scenario that arises after lines are awarded. When our Line Improvement window opens, and you are flying and/or didn't click submit within 90 seconds of it opening, regardless of seniority, your pretty much stuck with your line. So essentially, someone that is 100 numbers junior, could have a better line with more days off etc. On top of that, we recently found out someone in our company created a computer program to submit multiple trades within nano seconds of the window opening. So, your lucky line holders at least are a result of the system, and not fraudulent computer programs. IMO, the only honest good thing we got going, is our vacation and our reserve sounds a tad better. Im very open minded about PBS recently.
I think we can all agree that our vacation is, hands down, one of the best parts of either contract. But you can kiss that goodbye with any new PBS (that includes vacation low guys). |

Where did you bid too? From my most recent calculations, the position notice shows about 340 FO's needed on the 50 in ATL. Currently, I believe, there are only about 280-290 after the mass exodus. That should mean there will be over 60 positions available in this seat! If this is true, I believe most new hires will be assigned ATL CRJ 200 FO! Am I crazy?

I went from the 200 ATL to 700 ATL. I was thinking that since they were going to reduce ATL by 30 on the 200 I would be back on reserve so I figured might as well do it on the 700. Plus each prelim they kept adding more and more 700 FOs.

I came up with only about 236 left on the 200. I should have stayed.
By showing all positions during the pre-lims, they don't show the whole picture. These snap-shots do not include any new-hires. I have many class-mates that left the 200 for the 7-900 because the pre-lims showed them more senior in that position. That assumption is only based on currently hired and trained, available pilots and not on total positions available. If all was fair, the company should list the positions available (including new hire vacancies) on the pre-lims. It should also go without saying, the 7-900 will always be senior. |
