No way. How can we "Delta" take our contractors and make them cheaper?

I'll let you answer it. It's not too hard.

I've posted some flamebait in my time but Kilroy wins the cake. Damn boy...

Can some one give some back ground on this. I overheard a couple of DFW guys talking about a certain pilot in DFW that got in trouble pulling a Scott P on a flight.

Atlanta is generally always longer for getting a line. On the 200 in ATL, it's less than 2 years, from what I have heard. On the 700 in ATL it is over 3 years. From what I hear, all other bases are less than a year for a line. Cancellation and deadhead are 100%.

Right now, you can probably hold a line a lot sooner in the smaller bases (DFW, DTW, IAD). They average around 15-20 reserve lines, however I expect that number to go up come January with the new FTDT rules.

I'm barely holding a line in IAD after 15 months on property (setting aside the TDYs the next two months which would push me back into reserve). Come JAN I should have a little breathing room, but not much.

My JUL 2012 classmates in ATL on the -200 are all lineholders with room to spare. Come JAN they should still be lineholders, but with a little less room to spare.

My DTW classmates are all still on reserve. Come JAN they will be close to lineholder status but still on the outside looking in.

The DFW folks are in about the same position as the IAD folks.

YMMV

^ +1. I've been in DTW the same time period, on perpetual RSV up and down 3-8 from the bottom with no significant progress towards even barely holding a line. Oddly enough with the latest bid I should be able to scrape a line in ATL on the 700 due to quite a number of new hires being assigned ATL CR7, which is probably due to the 19 ATL CR2's exiting the fleet by the end of the year. However ATL CR2 should still remain overall the quickest way to a line IMHO.

I just moved down about 20ish numbers on the 700 in ATL due to senior FO's bidding from the 200 to the 700. Still +3 yrs for reserve.

It won't be 3+ years on the 70 after this bid. They normally run 40-45 reserve lines on the 70 in ATL. I'm an oct'12 hire and will sit 42 up from the bottem.

Total number of reserves will increase as the numer of 700 pilots in ATL increase and the flight time duty time regs go into effect. Reserve may drop from over 3 years, but not as drastically as one might think.
