I am in the CRJ class hoping to get DFW since that is the closest base to me.

I would stick with that then, pay will be the same "soon" plus crj is more anyway if that is your concern

I'm in the same 17 June CRJ class. What do you think the chances are of getting DTW out of class? An ERJ class starts the same day. Would I have a better chance of getting CLE in the ERJ than DTW in the CRJ?

I won't be one sided towards CRJ but both sides are a crapshoot for bases right now seems to be a good mix of all the bases but historically both those bases are junior so you should be able to hold them eventually. DTW is a crj700 base so pay would be more there than on the 200

It really just depends on which aircraft/base needs bodies the most. ATL 700 is senior for FOs, yet new hires have been awarded it recently. If you want DTW you'll need to hold a 700 position out of training or the 18 month aircraft freeze may restrict you to 200 domiciles for a while. If you get 700 ATL it shouldn't be too hard to find a DTW pilot to base trade. The good news is that 700 positions are being vacated by senior FOs upgrading to Captain on the last couple awards.

With that said I think ERJ CLE is more of a sure thing. If not awarded in training I assume trading into a junior domicile won't be too difficult. Then again I'm not sure how the newly announced domiciles will affect seniority on the ERJ side.

What was the final count of FO's upgrading to Capt with this last award? They were planning for 16 upgrades?

If I did the math correctly, there were 20 upgrades and 1 downgrade, for a net 19 upgrades.

I'm confused about something....do you or do you not need ATP mins to fly 121 now? I'm too young for my ATP by 1 year, and I have a little over 2000 hours all turbine with plenty mtpic. I see a lot of people claiming over gouges that they were hired with 600-700 hours...those aren't ATP mins!!

Can anyone shed some light on this for me?

You will need them beginning August of this year. Prior to that, you only needed a commercial certificate and a second class medical to be a First Officer.

Thanks. Hopefully all those upgraded FO's will want to be hired away once they get some PIC turbine later this year and ASA can upgrade some more FOs
