Take whatever AC they give you. Unless its because of base location. Don't be a plane snob :)

It happens a lot with a 'oh well, not my fault' kind of attitude. Just my opinion, based on a few years of observation.

That could also be because the captain has come to the conclusion that regardless of what he/she says to the gate agent or ground crew that if that same urgency is not met by them, then it is totally out the captain's control. The only thing that the crew then could do is put on a delay code.

AtlCIP are you a PIC?

For those of us who have been for a long time, ross hits it on the head. There is no reason for the crew to get their blood pressure elevated because people not under our command and who don't answer to us are incompetent. I just let the system work and enter the proper delay code. now if it's my crew, yes, I prod them to get their stuff done and get the door closed ASAP so I can drop the brake on time. But I refuse to be one of those guys who stomps up to the gate, yells at the gate agent, then stomps down to the ramp, yells at the rampers, then throws bags 6 times a day.

Let's do some rumor control on the forum, the very concept of which is a classic oxymoron.

So here's whats floating around:

-Expressjet recently wanted 48 pilots for a class. They found 13. One of which had a few "driving" related issues (RBTL) and the other whom was well, rather long in the tooth to put it kindly.

-Eagle and Republic are offering 10K to join.

-Eagle rep was at a Expressjet new hire hotel offering 1K to jump ship.

So whats the deal out there from the regional angle on hiring and the future of these regionals to find qualified crew after August 2?

I mean really, 150K at Riddle to make 20K the first year after you get 1500 hours somehow. Who wouldn't jump at that?

Hello, I was just wondering, were you able to confirm that rumor about a number of pilots that are showing up for classes. Is expressjet having a problem getting people to apply for f/o interviews.
