What is the interview process like? Sim? Also what base and aircraft type would one expect out of training. How long until a new hire could get an Atlanta base?

Aviationinterviews.com for latest gouge
No
ATL or DTW
Immediately

Make sure you ask for the CRJ side if you want Atlanta.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't RSV in ATL like forever? I have a buddy who is here at PSA cause they told him 3.5 years reserve in ATL. Granted that was 2 years ago.

Nevets 02-22-2016 08:26 PM

Atl & dtw = crj
ewr, iah, cle, ord = erj
dfw = crj & erj

Nah. For March the most junior line on the 200 without vacation or training was a January 2015 hire. So less than a year online.

tommytomcat 02-23-2016 04:28 AM

What are the call out times?

To add to this: ATL is the most "senior" base too. If you want QoL and an expressway to a line, bid the CRJ ATL and avoid the 700/900 like the plague.

BeechedJet 02-23-2016 11:55 AM

Reserve on the 700/900 in ATL and DTW is well above 2 years. It's half that on the 200.

Mr Rumbold 02-23-2016 01:04 PM

What is ERJ-145 junior base?
How long is reserve on that airframe?

How long to get either EWR or IAD?

+1 and any chances to get ORD?

XJT doesn't have an IAD base anymore. EWR is the most Junior ERJ base, but you would likely be able to hold any base right out of training.

SilverBull 02-28-2016 09:37 PM

How long is the current contract with carriers for ERJ flying? Any potential new flying in the coming years for the ERJ side?

Zidac 02-29-2016 09:21 AM

Expect a sim eval if you are not current. There were 7 interviewees on the day I interviewed. They eventually split us off into two groups. Three of the interviewees hadn't flown in a while and needed to do a sim. However, they knew about it in advance, so it's not as though they surprise you with a sim eval on the day of the interview.

As a new hire, how feasible is to get Houston out of training? If not, how long it may take to have Houston? How long will you be sitting on reserve in Houston? Thanks.

Several in my new hire class (August 2015) were awarded Houston while in training. Those who weren't awarded it initially held it within 3 or so months.

OFlyer4 03-30-2016 06:05 PM

I have an interview coming up and I was curious what base was the easiest to come out and hold a line, and if I wanted to switch to ORD if it was possible to hold a line there or if that would be a struggle unless I waited quite awhile.

You can usually get ORD quickly, but the reserve time is longer. The trips as a line holder in ORD are almost all commutable.

Not trying to hijack the thread and I won't post again, but if ORD is your intention, take a look at envoy.

I thought you didn't post in other carriers threads? You are over here selling Envoy. After all, you don't even work there!

What is reserve like for DFW or IAH? Either airplane. I would prefer the CRJ in DFW though.

You do realize the CRJ DFW contract expires in about a year right?

Getting in to the 145 business seems like a marginal idea.

I think they both do. We've received no news of any extension on the DFW 145s at all past April 2017, and just recently learned that two of them are already going back to Envoy halfway through the contract due to staffing concerns. Guess that great performance gets us nowhere with AA as well as United...

At least with United there is some kind of preferential hiring program for the ERJ guys.

True, but the UA side too is losing planes I believe.

flyjustinfly 04-01-2016 08:30 PM

Any insight into the future of CLE? With all the reduction in UA flying there, but having a MM base (correct me if I am wrong), would it continue to stay?

Thanks for the info. No I was not aware. I'm just now looking into where I want to go when I make the jump to 121. Trying to stay in DFW or IAH. Leaves me with XJT, Envoy, or Mesa. Sounds like SkyWest is closing their IAH base from what I'm hearing.

You'll find it's very hard to predict where your seniority will allow you to hold base wise. Envoy sounds like your best bet if you want to get with a company that has a death grip on Dallas and career prospects... IMO

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I can hold either one within a few months with all of the companies, if not right away. I'll see what the situation looks like in a few months when I have my total time.

Hey, what's the fraud doing on an expressjet thread? LMAO! Is your buyers remorse with allegiant that big that you are scoping out all the regional threads?

What a joke..all your ag3xxx accounts and whatever other phantom accounts you have on here. Envoy is throwing a wrench in your plot to spread false negative information about it, isn't it? What will all these recent upgrades, returned flying, returned aircraft, arrival of more and more E175s...

And that is nothing compared to more news coming down the pike. So let's recap: you work for allegiant (excuse me for a few minutes while I finish laughing) and in your free time you attempt to spread false information about Envoy...except that now Envoy is on a major upswing which makes your job even more difficult. Life must really suck right about now, hu ag-whatever you call yourself?

Hey is there a reason I keep reading all over the forums you guys are gong out of business or something. I just checked and saw you guys were still hiring and everything?

You can read a lot of stuff on these forums. Pilots can be pretty cynical and pessimistic, so there's a lot of doom and gloom. Yes we're still hiring. Skywest Inc. is shifting to short term CPAs because they're more profitable, but it can make the expiration dates in the 10Qs and 10K kinda scary when we're used to seeing longer term agreements. Chip said he'd do all 30 day CPAs if he could, because those make the most money, so we shouldn't expect to see the 5/10 year agreements of yore. It was those kinds of CPAs that almost sunk us. If ExpressJet breaks even or shows a modest profit later this year, I think we'll see more flying come our way.

Is this post still alive? I'm wondering what kind of hours I might get sitting reserve in ATL? I've heard anything from only 300/yr to someone who just did 340 in 6 mo. What say ye?

I did just north of 300 my first year (minus the couple of months training) I could have flown more but chose reserve times that flew less. I was on reserve for about 10 months. I would imagine it's less than that now since hiring has been better than it was my first year.

We are short FO's. I would think you could currently expect north of 600/yr.

amcnd 09-07-2016 05:01 AM

So im confused.. No Number was attached to this "extension". So it it. Instead of a fast 150 aircraft leaving in 1 year. Its now spread over 2 years? When will the details be released?? This comes the same day as SkyWest moves "30" AC to AA. They attached a number to that announcement...

AMNegron 09-07-2016 05:59 AM

It's also the same day SKW started flying 19 new E175s for DC "on the West coast".
