While they may/will be shrinking the number of lines in EWR, they'd have to have an actual Displacement Bid to displace anyone. We haven't had one of those since '02 or maybe early '03, I don't remember. They'd have to post a new Perm Bid with negative vacancies in EWR. Unless they surprise me, they will probably just keep the same number of crews in EWR with more reserves and then slowly shrink through attrition. That's my guess.
Held it from day 1 right out of training. Since it is by far the largest base it is not hard to get. Right now though, most new hires will probably go to ONT since it went super junior.

When you find out depends on what is going on in the company. When I went through we found out at the very end of systems because there was a system bid going on and they weren't sure where people would be moving around and where there would be vacancies. But you should find out at some point during ground school. ONT is not guaranteed as a base since it is fairly small (125 CAs and 125 FOs) compared to the other bases and there are a fair number of West Coast commuters here. Rumor is another base for ExpressJet Airlines will be opening soon in either San Antonio or Austin. Stay tuned.

I've applied since Oct, been DQ'd once and have resubmitted since 5 weeks ago...still 'screening'. They don't return phone calls either, I've left no less than 8 messages on 6 different days.I currently have >1,300 TT, >600 multi-turbine...very frustrating since Xjet is my #1 choice by far.
