Default NJ FDX Pilots

For anyone who keeps an airport car in Memphis. Do you register it in NJ? If so how do you deal with the two year inspection requirement? I've been on the phone with MVC and they are telling me even though the car would stay in Memphis it is still required to come back for inspection, and there is no way i am driving back for that. Is there anyway around this?

I'm not savvy on traffic laws, but something tells me a TN cop has no idea (or jurisdiction) to give you a ticket for that. Plus, I've been to the NJDMV. It is the 7th circle of hell. I would rather pay the ticket.

When I was stationed in NV I was able to register my truck out of state, inspection was not required unless I drove it back into the state where it was registered.

Register the vehicle in TN with your NJ address as the contact information. Just make sure your insurance company knows you garage it in TN. I have other vehicles in other states. No issues.

Mine has been in MEM for 15 years, still has the old inspection sticker. I'm sure NJ would care is they saw it, but I doubt it ever goes back to NJ.

Just remember if your running in or around Memphis to not flip the bird to passing motorists. Also keep your doors locked and your head low.
