You cannot pick up out of base, other than to trade or bump for a per diem only trip.
CBA 25.L.1.i
"A pilot may not be assigned an activity that originates at a base other than his own, except in PDO status"
That said, the company can build open time trips that have deadhead or operations into and out of another base, but that's a different animal.

I’m guessing CRS could revise an uncovered EUR pairing with a deadhead from MEM and label it an Xtra pairing and dump it into open time. I have no idea if that is the case as I have never looked or followed 757 opentime.

This is a great example of why we have a crap contract. Here is one pilot that doesn't even know one of the basic things in the contract about trip trading - that you can only pick up flying in your base. What other parts of the contract are you oblivious to?
We are about to begin negations please become familiar with all parts of the contract before you vote.

Pretty sure this is just a typo on your part but it is negotiations time but unfortunately we probably will negate some parts of our contract to help the company out.

The contract document is almost 600 pages. The section about substitution is about ten pages. Are you familiar with “all parts” of the contract?

They don't have to be in the bid pack at the beginning of the month. They can be built as "extra" pairings. Happens all the time in many seats and fleets. This premise that a certain base owns certain routes is a falicy. The company can route them as they see fit with the equipment they see fit. They can up gauge and down gauge and change equipment.

GMAFB - I know where two find sub and have to read it every time and the biggest thing is I know it exists. The other guy told someone you can pick trips up out of base. I have also flown with a Captain that swore we had cash over cap. I had to educate him that that was sick bank payout and not even close to the same thing.
