FedEx - Other Retirement Improvement Options

I attended one of the hubturn meetings last week. They have a computer program created by (Chiron?) The actuary group that, once all of the parameters are negotiated can be plugged in by each individual pilot to show the expected gains for every pilot unique to their situation. I believe that the results will determine each pilot's vote. I think this will be a different type of vote than we have ever experienced at fdx due to the seriousness of the subject and the individual result of the model that we will have to judge it by.

I am not trying to sound optimistic about this plan. I don't know much more than you do at this point. I have not voted yes on anything that this union has put in front of us in the past 20 yrs, but I personally feel that this vote would be better handled by itself without other extraneous factors clouding the waters.

To understand where the Negotiating Committee is going, just watch the video Update Retirement Research Project (Nov 2017) on YouTube. They want to remove the 25 years of service cap (YOS). Let us take a finite pie, slice it up in smaller pieces and give more slices to everyone working past 25 years. This is why we need the option to keep our A plan to keep the union honest. If it is not fair to a certain group, they should be able to keep the negotiated benefit and walk. All i want is the same deal my predecessors got.

All I want is my $25,000 VEBA check...
You had to be 54 in 2006 to get it.
It was supposed to help with your healthcare between 60 and 65.
But those same folks got to stay until 65.
And they kept the $25,000, with interest.
They got theirs, where's mine?

May said that Chiron has no skin in the game. They are paid by the hour to run numbers and advise and would not be involved in any management of the plan. The fund would be run most likely by the same company that currently runs the A plan, Mercer.
