Default Jumpseat cancellation

Quick question for you guys/gals. I was trying to get home recently and a flight cancelled because the plane was stuck overseas due to WX. However, it was only when I showed up for check-in the hour before did I learn this (apparently happened to a few other guys as well). Is it standard for JS’ers to call the JS line to check flight status or was this a one off? I made it back home just fine, not upset at all, just want to know for next time. Cheers

I’ve had a JS cancelled because the flight cancelled. But I received an email hours ahead of time telling me my listing was cancelled.

If you get the tail number, you can look it up on Flight Aware. Easy enough to do well in advance if the plane is coming from overseas.

I’ve been contacted by Jumpseat administration the one time my Jumpseat flight cancelled. They have your number in your FDX Jumpseat profile. Likely a fluke they didn’t give you a heads up. Sorry to hear.

Are you a Fedex pilot? I have always received an email when something changes for the flight. Not sure how they inform offline pilots. Do offline pilots give an email address to js admin?

Sorry this happened.

When I was offline, they would typically call when the status of a Flight changed. Although, it did slip through the cracks once or twice.

Nope, offline. Though I seem to remember them taking my cell and/or email address when setting up my profile.
