Jumpseater Rumors
From a jumpseat non-pilot employee, dont shoot the messenger...
767 ETOPS highest priority by spring. Expect North Pacific and North Atlantic certifications. ANC-CTS. EWR-STD EWR-CDG. Possible Guam hub for the pacific!! Then... 777 ETOPS expansion (Russian overland airspace) for more northern routings. Miami to be a hub for South America. Eyeing Lima, Bogota, Viracopos/Campinas, and Santiago. (777 flying) Company questioning direct routing business model versus hub and spoke. Searching for city pairs to do direct flights. 777 LAX-CDG and VCP-CDG. All of this is due to modeling and integrating the TNT system. Company is trying to acquire more 777s from companies already flying them (not a secret). But company is also offering to purchase other companies’ 777 options. Interesting times. |
Were the bases mia and Guam 767?

Unless the source was the same, this jives with what I was told as well. Interesting. I still don't think we will see a bid until Feb/Mar timeframe but this is certainly sounding like some growth opportunities for the airline.

Rumors are fun. Usually BS, but fun.
If anyone wants to go in a crash pad in Niseko, just let me know :D. If I could bid CTS in the Dec/Jan and Santiago in July/August...oh my. Make layovers great again! |

My favorite rumor, as told dead-seriously to me a couple months ago by a Captain I flew with, was that FX was going to be the launch customer for Boeing's NMA (757 replacement).
