Default Purple runway

Are people actually going through or was this something to get people hype on? I’ve searched all over and can only find their first press release about the program.

Is that the program where you fly a 208 for a year, then an ATR, then go to a regional and then apply to FedEx?

No becuase once you go through the math you realize this was a horrible idea. Fedex has been very public about not wanting to hire feeders. And if you follow the purple runaway plan you’ll take 12 years before you can even apply to FedEx.

Don’t waste your time. Go regional or anywhere else than a feeder.

Ya cause we’re not qualified to haul freight for Fedex

Hey, what do you do?

I haul freight for Fedex, in an airplane owned by Fedex.

Why don’t you apply to Fedex?

They say I’m not qualified to haul freight for Fedex.

But that’s what you do, right?

Yep

Makes sense right?

This industry doesn't make sense.

>Fly for a Delta/United/AA regional and fly hundreds of their passengers throughout their system day to day

Then get rejected by UA/DL/AA and continue to fly their passengers around their system in their own branded jets.

Exactly!

I think if Fedex knew just how many of their “feeder” pilots are interviewing now and /or have gotten other jobs and are waiting for classes, might cause some chest pain/cardiac symptoms.

Jus sayin.

Insanity—extreme foolishness or irrationality. The state of being seriously mentally ill.

Oh man.....don't get me started on this. I mentioned on another forum (that will remain nameless) that I worked "at" FedEx (not for). As in everything I do is for the benefit of FedEx including the specific location I worked at (you know an actual FedEx airport ramp). I flew a FedEx owned airplane (big bright FedEx painted on the side with all FedEx branding on the side of the airplane). I flew FedEx cargo to and from FedEx "specific facilities" on FedEx specific routes. Wore the FedEx uniform. The only difference between me and other actual FedEx pilots were the name on my paycheck and the size of the airplane.

Boy did I get the hate mail from "real" FedEx. So bad that not only did I leave the forum but I left the company too. FedEx can go jump in a lake for all I care.

I was once in line to go through security (at a FedEx base) in uniform on my way out to a FedEx owned airplane that was carrying FedEx cargo to a FedEx outstation and was told to make way for "Real Pilots" to get ahead of me in line for the metal detectors. (although in fairness one of the FedEx FOs came up to me later to apologize and said "we think you are real pilots too", but I think he said he was on property less than a year and the FedEx God complex hadn't settled in)

Talk about being treated like crap and a red headed step child.

"F" FedEx......I am happy they are having trouble finding feeder pilots. Maybe if you treated them a bit more like part of the team......or you know, human......

And a big "FU" to Empire while I am at it. That will take a whole nuther thread.

Ha! You again.

No, you do not work for FedEx. And almost everyone that explained how incorrect your statement was has no ties to FedEx.

I flew United pax on United branded airplanes serviced by United employees for years as an RJ guy. Not once did it ever cross my mind to say I “worked for United”. I don’t know anyone that would have been weird enough to say that either.

What? You can’t read? He didn’t say he worked “for” Fedex. Stop drinking the kool-aid brah—it’ll rot your teeth.
