Had a friend from college, who works at Atlas, text me to tell me they are opening the base to do routes we are having a tough time with. 🙄

Whatever the heck that means.

Go to a single rate like UPS and that dynamic changes, but that’s not the industry standard at this point.
Discussing an airline with WB rates below our 757 rates wasn’t my intent and I think you probably know that. But if you want to muddy a discussion with semantics, that’s your prerogative.

I guess kidding wasn’t evident in my posts. But speaking of semantics, per the DOT, Atlas is a major airline. <— this is my just kidding emoji

All I can say is that this chart is from a document that is filed with the SEC. So the information for it is true until they file another chart saying otherwise.

By the way, I heard a rumor a while back that FedEx had bought about 5 MDs specifically for parts. Don’t know if that is true or not.

That wasn’t the answer to his question though. Maybe he didn’t realize that altas falls under the DOTs definition of major airline?

FedEx did buy 5 Lufthansa Cargo MD-11s for parts. UPS bought 6 and are flying all 6 of them and Western Global bought the remaining. Lufthansa has 2 left flying that will end up at western global. FedEx also bought Martinair’s MD-11s for parts a few years ago.

A large percentage of respectable professional careers do not approach an Atlas salary. But I fully understand what you are saying....FexEx is an incredible career position.
