Default New comma from block 7 about secret meetings

For those of you not in council 22. This is the latest from the block 7 rep.

Where there is smoke, there is fire.
Well, it certainly isn’t a Hallmark movie, more like Animal Farm or 1984. Just two days after Captains Turner and Cutler attempted to assure you there are no secret meetings, I, along with the rest of the MEC, were briefed on Friday about a meeting held by Blocks 2 and 5, among others.
Earlier this week, they wasted ALPA resources and your dues money with a meeting that had to be repeated because the entire MEC should have been involved. Again, they disregarded protocol and bypassed their peers on the MEC and the MEC Officers by going straight to ALPA National, and this time with questions about YOUR FREE SPEECH!
Frankly, we shouldn’t be surprised; directly from Captains Cutler and Turner's last comm, they classified these Dues Paying Union Members in Good Standing as “staging a coup during the December 8 LEC 26 interim elections.”
Captains Cutler and Turner did not coordinate with me. Nor did they alert the entire MEC. In my view, they targeted what appears to be a response to an opposing view. Jet Flyers, the email list run by [email protected] or FedEx Freedom Flyers, were not the subject of their witch hunt.
If there is a bright side, the ALPA Legal Team reminded all of us that democracy, free speech and ‘the right to gather’ are all still legal endeavors.
I promise to provide transparency, even if I don't like what I find.
To our future,F/O PATRICK O'DELLBlock 7 Status Rep[email protected]+1 (405) 659-6054

I wonder what excuses TC And CT have for lying to us about secret meetings.

The Block 7 Rep ran on Integrity, Transparency, and Trust

He demonstrated integrity by flouting his roles and responsibilities to be present or establish a proxy for union meetings.

He demonstrated transparency by hiding his revelation to retain the NC Chair from his voting block until three days after voting closed.

He demonstrated trust by accusing FDX ALPA of turning a blind eye towards scope noncompliance by the company with absolutely zero evidence.

If you want to have a conversation that begins from a place of credibility, you’ve picked the wrong source.

Make no mistake, I support the replacement of Capt. Pat May when a better candidate volunteers. Then, when a new Negotiating Committee Chair is selected, I support an overlapping transition period to get the new Chair spun up and ready to negotiate.

This is from his November 18 communication. Quit worshiping at the alter of Tony Cuttler, he and Chris Turner Lied directly to us.

They asked Alpa if there was any punishment that these groups could face for getting together and having a dissenting view.

I sent a dart asking who has volunteered to step up, nothing but crickets.

Seriously IDGAF about PM. The problem you and the previous MEC and the MEC before them have is you keep allowing that guy to be the lynch pin to us getting a deal. As a result what ever materializes is his deal. You will support his removal with a while bunch of qualifiers. He should have resigned them we would have replaced him. This specious argument about not being able to change leadership out of fear of delay of a deal needs to die.

As for the machinations of those losing their ironclad grip on the direction of this crewforce all I can say is amen. It need to happen.it was always an inevitability. Expecting them to go quietly is foolhardy. They were never going to. They have too much to lose and they cannot conceive of anything other than their own wants and needs.

We shouldn't fear them we should pity them

We wouldn't even be talking about this if PM had the integrity to follow his word in resigning with the failure of HIS TA. I have no confidence in his ability to lead the NC. IMO, One huge obstacle to finding someone to vol to take his position is him still being in the position. I believe 110% that someone will rise up and fill the role, ONCE HE IS GONE.

To me, a right TA is better than fast TA, leadership with no integrity is intolerable.

Default I regret voting for Pat O'Dell

Based on what I knew at the time I voted for PO, but now would vote to recall him if given the chance. His wording is crafty but from what I can piece together he probably intended from the start to retain PM and the old guard. I'm still chuckling at the survey question about would I vote no on a new TA which I approve of merely becasue of who negotiated it. It sounds nuts on the surface, yet it might be a smart move given I do not trust the original MEC, NC, and could surmise I've been lied to. They likely would hide some easter eggs in there to bite us in the bum after we see how the company interprets, and ALPA enforces, the language.

Generally the old guard rebuffed any new blood who tried to get involved and change up the status quo. Who is the arbiter of evaluating a candidate's qualifications? Why are we training pilots to do a job that is not their profession, and sending them in against the best professionals in the business? Right there you are self selecting for arrogance and over sized egos.

So, what the point of block 7 rep's email? Is it to improve things on the MEC? Is it to out other members whom he disagrees with? Who knows.

The people who now say with complete certainty TC and CT lied to us, please present your facts and direct non-hearsay evidence. Also, the block 7 rep is going to have to define "meeting". If he means the most broad version like when anytime two people talk, I would like that explained. If it is a scheduled MEC meeting, then I would also like to know that, becuse there are rules for MEC meetings, and there are rules about meetings in general.

In short, statments matter. Definitions matter. Purpose matters.

The fact an MEC member is waging a war in public without definition leads me to only one conclusion. I'll be there in January to cast my vote and I'll be holding three proxies. I'll be sad we have to go through this again, and I'll wonder who was pulling the strings which changed the block 7 rep's opinion about our future. I hope we all can learn from this.

I would love to know what world PO is living in. One of his recent comms said his goal is to have a TA that is approved by 80% plus. He thinks the same person that just negotiated a TA that only got 43% support when he had a 99% strike authorization vote in his back pocket is going to be able to achieve that? Get real.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but I now believe that PO purposely lied about his position on replacing the NC during his campaign so that he could get into his position and do the opposite. He needs to go......ASAP. And please stop with the lectures on honesty, transparency, and integreity dude. I mean have a little bit of self awareness.
