When was the last Major airline to strike. If my memory is correct it was American, and Bill Clinton put them back to work within the hour. Do you really think the Govt will let us strike while we have the postal contract? Really?
Fedex makes a lot more money, and we have over 5 times as many employees so if you split that by the number of employees we need to make 5 times what Delta makes. Technically, it was a "lock out", but the net result was the same. |

You're memory isn't quite there. NWA was the last "major" to strike in the fall of '98, and they were out for 14+ days.

Spirit strike was 2010... at the time they had <500 pilots

Ok. I forgot about NW. Somebody pointed out ABX but then removed the post, that proved my point. ABX with 24 planes was put back to work by a judge. Does anyone really think we would be able to go on strike. I don't. I believe the strike vote was symbolic to show our unity but that was about it.
In order to strike we would need to be released from the NMB, there would be a 30 day cooling off period and then we could strike. I don't believe that we would ever be released because of the damage to the economy. |
