My guess is the USPS walked away from them because we do not have labor peace, and an election year is upon us. At any rate, say goodbye to domestic day flying and 4A2C just became a bit more of a real possibility.
that’s a silly guess. UPS pilots enter sec6 in 2 months and they almost always take well over 24 months before getting a TA. I think labor peace has zero to do with the decision - else FedEx certainly would have added a sweetener to their Feb supposal returns to keep the peace.

All of this shock happened when we walked away from Amazon in '19. That upcoming Town Hall is going to be REAL fun with questions.

UPS won the contract because it can absorb the postal flying into its extended integrated network at a price that FedEx cannot do the same profitably.

Thanks for the laugh. FedEx had the contract for almost 20years and what, didn't make a dime?

Postmaster Dejoy has been saying for years that they want to move USPS away from flying and into trucks. Is it really a surprise?

UPS ran its version of "Drive" after the Teamsters allowed team feeder semi-trailer driving, Circa their 2007 contract.

This was when some customers were suprised to find their "Air" packages were not done by aircraft for some city pairings.

It’s federal law. Postal Reform Act of 2022. UPS will probably lose money on whatever deal they’ve made. We were these last couple years. None of this has been a secret. The good thing about financial reports is that they are carefully regulated and required to be accurate. Major penalties for lying in quarterly reports. But they actually take time to read, and aren’t nearly as interesting as Facebook apparently. So here we are.

Ha! Highly doubtful and prolly a little wishful thinking. We can all B and moan about how UPS conducts its business, but one thing they don't do is lose money.

By my count, that makes FedEx Corp 0-2 at negotiating!

Their stock is down today. Investors aren’t excited about the new deal.
