So many second families are about to happen.

I’ll never understand the things this company does. Obviously IND base closing with next system bid. Why not keep it there till then?

Why do you believe IND base is closing at next bid? Would paying for deadheads and hotels for all the flights somehow be less expensive than people living there? Not confronting you or anything, I just don’t understand how this would benefit anyone.

Been a rumor around AOTC for a while. At this point, nothing would surprise me!

98% of the trips out of IND bid package are double deadheads already. IND had 10 lines with BOG/MDE flying for August. Taking those lines and giving them to Memphis in order to keep pilots “familiar” with the area negates the whole point of having a base that specializes in that type of flying. Also, the EWR-CDG lines are starting to transition to MEM-CDG on weekends. I don’t see a point to keep a satellite base operating when they’re just going to staff it out of MEM or have trips physically start and/or end there.

Interesting. I guess with appropriate seniority it probably won’t change the way Indy locals bid. I would imagine most of them already bid for the DHs and long layovers on their couch anyway.

Looking at those sample pairings, I see many that contain three layovers of approx 24hrs. Have any of you guys flown pairings like these? They look like they could be pretty brutal with those circadian swaps.

Just flew a domestic trip with 3 24-hour layovers and 3 circadian swaps. Looked fine on paper. It was brutal! Filed fatigue reports afterwards.

(Quote about closing IND didnt paste)

Interesting, I just heard the opposite from the last guys I flew with. Said the company is moving whatever they can from MEM to IND. Cited MEM crime and difficulty in getting people just to show up for work there.
