Progress!

LEC 79 Comm today:

”The Negotiating Committee will be contacting the NMB this week to request a status conference meeting. Expect updates to follow as soon as we have additional information.” (emphasis mine)

Finally we can get some traction and get this train moving. Hopefully we’ll hear something by the end of the week on future dates.

Funny how something that important is a blip in one council's update and completely omitted in another.

But man, that Ties Off FAQ!!!!!

I wish I could share your optimism.

Shows how out of touch with reality some of our MEC members are.

I’m still a little unclear on what we’re supposed to be doing. I think I’ll just leave my shirt buttoned and my fly down for now.

Crap! I'm supposed to wear pants?! That wasn't in the FAQs!

max8222 07-30-2025 04:24 PM

They have had plenty of time to move on from TA1. Poor leadership and a failed strategy by a few on the MEC has got us nowhere.

why don’t you volunteer? You seem to be the smartest guy in the room here. Maybe you can rub those two brain cells together and help the crew force

Poor leadership and a concessionary mentality anchored FedEx Pilots at the bottom of the barrel with multiple concessionary contracts plus TA2023. Strong leadership is what's keeping it from happening again.

max8222 07-30-2025 05:00 PM

They won’t answer my emails, I am not on their special telegram list. No way would they let me on their special club.

If they have a “special club” at least this time it’s not run by management.

max8222 07-30-2025 05:43 PM

Lack of leadership is keeping anything from happening

max8222 07-30-2025 05:45 PM

Just run by a bunch of egos who think they are the smartest in the room. Getting played by the NMB and the companies negotiating team.

When most of the other families are making $19 an hour and working part time.

I can see the Memphis news paper headlines,

Millionaire pilots picketing family day when they make 30x the average FedEx worker. Like a turd in a punch bowl.

Maybe the kids would like the MEC chairman jumping around in a Panda suite in 100 deg weather.

think I found the reason why they won’t let you “help them out”, company man.

dissenting frog

max8222 07-31-2025 04:30 AM

Company Frog, Maybe they read my post and it changed their mind about you jumping around in a Panda suit at family day.

Nothing says Strong Leadership like the constant replacement of MEC members. Recalls wreak of a complete lack of direction and leadership. It’s STILL a dumpster fire. Perhaps the NMB and the company won’t notice.

Well, the "horrible TA" that was voted down primarily for lack of scope protection has resulted in four years of lost wages and no scope impact despite the continuing lack of scope protection and the pearl clutching. Had the "No" voters not poisoned the well, The MEC would be beginning to negotiate the next TA from higher salaries and a smaller, younger pilot force working at full hour load, carving out whatever was not ideal from the last contract.

Turns out the "yes" voters weren't the malefactors, but denial is a strong defense mechanism.

max8222 07-31-2025 05:41 AM

Maybe the NMB will notice that the MEC “strike is the only way to a contract” members are gone will they put us in the zone of reasonable and we can get a contract for all.

Indeed. Look no further than the SM for that. “This is a good deal because FedEx management says so…”

SMH.

The primary reasons the 2023 TA was voted down was because it didn’t meet the criteria for our very focused openers: industry leading rates of pay and retirement.

Scope was big. But a secondary factor.

I don’t think people understand how far down our pay was pushed in that TA. Southwest pilots would’ve out earned every pilot we have in every seat except the 777 and MD international pilots that achieve block over 8. We effectively got rid of wide body pay on that TA. No thanks.

Has someone been recalled? As far as I can tell the last MEC rep to be recalled was PO, who is now one of the louder voices pushing for more recalls.

Another meeting end because they lost a quorum? What a joke of an MEC. They don’t like how a meeting is going so they walk out. Meanwhile we are losing $$$ everyday without our ties on.

Tuck 08-01-2025 03:18 PM

The fact half the meetings end because loss of quorum tells you how AFU this MEC is - worst in 20 years. Zero progress, zero leadership - thanks TC.

What happened to that "direct line" JG told us he had to the NMB? Why in the world does he need a formal letter - I figured he'd have Beebe on the phone in a minute with an answer. Oh unless that was all bull**** and we are right back where we were in March of 24 - having to plead for more meetings because we haven't figured this **** out.

Remember when us idiots voted down TA23 then the VERY NEXT week Western Global (major md11 operator) declared bankruptcy? Ooohh, and then immediately after that FDX magically found “a new customer” that needed several new MD11 lines? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Thank god that scope was voted down. Can’t believe we have so many “educated” pilots that can’t think outside the box or connect the dots until it’s too late. Just joking, the company would never do that.

Why march 24? Why not Sept 23? Oh yeah, the guy in charge lied (again) about stepping down if we rejected the TA.

And of course negotiations don’t matter too much if the company refuses to offer anything we’d vote yes on…

max8222 08-01-2025 03:52 PM

Move on Jamo, we are in the present not the past. The bad actors in the MEC need to go. Even after going through the motions we will still be ahead because the current group is getting nowhere on purpose.

Time is our leverage, but we can't take a delay getting back to the table.

max8222 08-01-2025 04:47 PM

Time is the company’s pile of cash for themselves. All we got is no ties.

Sunburned frog what’s your obsession with Florida?

Don’t worry I will postpone here even from the grave just to bother you whiners. Hopefully they will change the age so can really get under your thin frog skin.
