Default Brownie and Junior Getting the Shake Down

Rumor that Brownie and Junior were doing a tour of the AOC yesterday. Im hearing they weren't wearing their smiley faces and possibly the FAA was with them. Anyone care to pour some petrol on this rumor?

The company had the pilots’ proposal for how long? This week they worked on per diem, gave a Scope supposal and traded several conceptual passes. Wow, so much movement.

DO NOT APPLY TO THIS DUMPSTER FIRE !!!

If they get a contract, FedEx will stretch the next contract years past the amendable date. It’s what they do.

DO NOT JOIN THIS WEAK PILOT GROUP.

Delta openers coming soon. Delta internal memos saying they'll NEED to hire 1500 in 2026. GO DELTA!

Weak pilot group, incompetent/dysfunctional/toxic corporate culture that makes any given regional look good, maintenance being outsourced and deferrals adding up, flying outsourced, FDA closures, minimal day-flying, over-optimized international pairings, archaic work rules and scheduling practices, the shift towards an ACMI-type operation where you only bid for line value and days off - make sure you plan for the 3.5 day involuntary extension and don't plan to see the layovers you bid for, and so-on.

FedEx is quickly going back to their stepping-stone airline era of the 1970s-1990s, where the only people that stay are the ones that can't get hired elsewhere, and the ones who want to try to make the place better get NOQed by other pilots and run out of town. It worked out really well for the ones who couldn't get hired elsewhere in the 90s, but only because dotcom, 9/11, age 65, the great recession, and the death of the Flight Engineer position at the passenger carriers all happened within in such a short window. FedEx may be the cat's meow again when the AI bubble bursts, but only if the TEMU shipments continue to keep the planes out of China full.

If you're in a storm, the FedEx port isn't the worst of sketchy ports to ride it out, but as soon as the storm clears, don't wait a second to go back out to sea. I thought FedEx was going to be my career job when I got hired and I am grateful that I found out that it wasn't before I hit V1.

And, unlike other pilot groups in similar positions like PanAm or TWA or Eastern, there isn't an ounce of fight in the Fedex pilot leadership, other than to retain union pay positions, or get them for your buddies.

Unlike TWA, Pan Am and Eastern, FedEx is not even close to going bankrupt or chapter 11. Also I doubt those airlines had IC like we have here. The IC’s would have been run out of town or worse.

Easyhore should run for NC. So when he meets with the company they can say when he wants Delta work rules and pay rates they can tell him why should they pay that when they can pay 95% of the crew force way below delta while guys like you cover our screw ups for 1.5. No need to give you delta. You got the company covered.
