Do you happen to know the regional guys background? I'm a 13 year regional guy without an astronaut rating.
I haven't heard of too many regional guys getting called for an interview yet. Do you know if he had prior military or heavy experience, or did he have some better-than-average connections?
Just wondering if they're starting to call guys with regional experience only.
Thanks.

i've given 4 regional pilots rides in the last month that have already interviewed. Not legacy but had big hitter recs. All 4 weren't 30 yet.

You have BAD info to pass along. I would delete your post.

The website is VERY clear and states FE Written in the last 24 months.

As long as FedEx has 727's, new hire applicants will be required to have a current FE written, taken w/i the last 24 mos. We have already let at least one good applicant go back to his regional airline eternal punishment cell because he falsified information on his application. THIS IS A FEDEX REQUIREMENT, pure and simple.

This CloudSailor guy usually posts good information. I'm getting a VERY uncomfortable feeling about this line of thinking. I wouldn't recommend anybody that I wanted to get hired at FedEx take this approach :eek::eek:

The FedEx website most definitely did NOT say this when the application window first opened. It simply stated that a current FE written was required. It is possible for an FE written taken 20 years ago to be current and valid as far as the FAA and everyone else (except FedEx) is concerned. For those who do not work for FedEx, there was initially no way to know that FedEx required a written taken within the past 24 months. Assuming that the requirements have now been clarified on the website, I agree that it would be crazy to claim that you had a current FE written if more than 24 months had passed since your last exam.

This should be a "sticky"

This has been discussed over and over:
FDX has a requirement

If the Company so chooses to make it more restrictive than the FAR definition, IT IS THEIR PEROGATIVE.

It is the Website that specifically states 24 months.

Hey Mark,

I believe Cloud to be one of the good guys, and he has not responded to any of the subsequent posts. Do you think he may have been hacked ?

FedElta, Mark,

Please re-read my post to understand it more clearly. I was in NO WAY encouraging pilot applicants to be dishonest on their application.

What I stated, and maybe not clearly enough, is that when I applied about 6 years ago, the application did not in any way address that FedEx has chosen a 24 month policy for the currency of the FEX written. Many, many applicants back then were not aware that FedEx's policy differed from the FAR on currency for written exams.

I am VERY GLAD to hear that the new application clearly states FedEx's written exam currency requirements.

I apologize if my post was in any way misleading to anyone. Again, as has been said on this forum many times: FEDEX REQUIRES YOU TO HAVE AN FEX WRITTEN CURRENT WITHIN THE PRECEDING 24 MONTHS, PERIOD.
