interview and class dates

Regarding FE written, i had one i took in 2008. Friends had stated if you were currently employed 121/135 the 2 yr expiration didn't apply. I retook it while filling out the profile. Does anyone know if this was wrong.

If you filled out the profile and said you had a current FEw(i.e. w/in 2 years) when you didn't, you were wrong.
Your "friends" didn't help you much. The FAR employment clause has nothing to do with what Fedex requires to apply - sorry. :(

I am not familiar with how the new application website phrases what constitutes a "current FEX written". However, when I had applied in the past I did state that I had a current FEX written, because even though it was older than 24 months, I had been employed by a Part 121 carrier during the intervening time (I was unaware of FedEx's policy on the currency requirement). After the interview, they let me know I would need to re-take the exam to be current by FedEx standards. It ended up being a non-issue for me. I am not suggesting that you do this on purpose. I would say though, that if the written exam currency requirement guideline is not clear on the application website, you technically had an FAR current written exam (NOT a FedEx-standards current), and they should be fully understanding of your lack of knowledge on this currency debate...

To sum it up, in my opinion, it seems you did nothing wrong. FWIW.

Good luck.

The Seattle Times also reports that Gilbert, who was a pilot for UPS, attracted young boys with rides in his airplane, travel, alcohol and flying lessons.

From a recent F/O class I was in, it could be soon. Not sure at this point.

Hey Cloud,

Good to see you onboard, and I hope all is well. However, I think you may be off on this a bit. A few pages back, it was mentioned that someone was pulled from indoc for having an FE exam date later than the exam date on his app.

Please encourage your buds to play by the FDX rules, not the 121 allowances. FDX and DAL are alike in that they feel any misstatement on an app is tantamount to lying.....ie: see ya' later. Please don't shoot the messenger.
Regards,
BG

On a side note. A casual acquaintance interviewed last week and 4 of 4 got hired! He was a regional guy. Not sure the others. Good to hear all got hired.

IslanderDriver,
Do you happen to know the regional guys background? I'm a 13 year regional guy without an astronaut rating.
I haven't heard of too many regional guys getting called for an interview yet. Do you know if he had prior military or heavy experience, or did he have some better-than-average connections?
Just wondering if they're starting to call guys with regional experience only.
Thanks.

Terrain Inop 07-17-2011 08:13 AM

Most regional guys that I'm aware of are legacy hires.
