Agreed!

Man, it really strikes a nerve when I hear that particular phrase "we are just bus drivers". What we are sometimes, is our own worst enemy, in terms of downgrading our profession.

When a guy driving for the local Mass Transit starts saying, "We're just bus pilots"...That's when I'll start worrying about how my profession is viewed.

Yeah, I see your point. However, I'm more concerned about how pilots view our own profession, since it is us pilots who will be negotiating our collective future, not Mass Transit drivers.

Mass Transit Drivers could probably negotiate better work rules and retirement than any pilot MEC ever has.

A wise man once told me, "Never underestimate your own insignificance."

When your boss has "unlimited funds" like Mass Transit Drivers bosses - AKA the Gov't - it's easy to get a good retirement.

That's a good point.

Too bad the line of the company making millions/billion dollars profits doesn't work out quite so well.
