I'm interviewing next week but had a question about the overseas locations. I heard recently that those really aren't options anymore. True/False? I have a 767 type and was also curious how FedEx determines aircraft assignments.

Based upon seniority order in your class, for whatever seats they need to fill at the time. Seniority is decided by last four of your ssn. Lowest to highest 0000-9999.
They are still sending some new hires to FDAs last couple of classes. We are expecting a large bid to come out any day now, and it will probably change the dynamic of where new hires are placed. If you have 100+ hours in 767/757 you are likely a good candidate for HKG or CGN, but it depends on what they need to fill. Did they tell you what you might be interviewing for?

FDAs could possibly be offered but you can't/won't be forced to take it.
good for you having a 76 type but it means nothing unless you accept an FDA. As stated, seats based on last 4 of SSN. Good luck!

No word on anything specific. I'm hoping to get a FDA. Figured it was the standard SSN but wasn't sure if having a type makes a difference in that decision. Thanks for the info!

Selection is now high to low based on last 4 of SSN. So 9999-0000. I was in the 3's and was 16 out of 20.

Actually, I think it has always been that way. They didn't change it just before your class ;)
