I haven't seen it posted lately, but what are the average times running from interview to start date? Just curious.

Thanks!

I think I remember hearing somewhere that it is 2 years Min and 4 years Max. Is this true or could you stay in a FDA longer that 4 years if you wanted to?

The four year maximum does not apply to HKG. You could spend your entire career in HKG if desired.

The 4 year CGN limitation is based on German tax law that says if you spend more than 4 years there then FedEx has to pay into the German pension system.

When they were setting up the base Management pretty much guaranteed us that would never happen ... too bad, Germany seems like a nice place to live and raise a family.

In other unrelated news, my HKG bud said he was obligated to spend 2 years there but then they sent him to 767 training and he owed them 2 more years? It turns out that he's happy there but I'm not sure when he could come home if he wanted to?

The CGN limitation is actually 4 years and 11 months. After 4 years, you can submit for a transfer without waiting for a system bid.

Is that a 4 year life time limit or could you come back to the states for a few years and then return to germany for 4 more years?

You can go away for a year and then come back. Your 4 year 11 month clock starts over. Pilots are doing that right now.
