STV- Bad
SIBA- Good

STV- 90 days in a hotel, may be voluntary and if not enough takers, then involuntary in reverse seniority.

SIBA- Deadhead and fly trips just like any other bid pack trip.

Frank, the union assures us that involuntary assignment to an STV can only be 1 bid period. Short explanation:

The LOA says Special Temporary Vacancies can be between 1 and 3 bid periods. The actual contract language in 24.C.4 says Temporary Vacancies can only be inversed assigned for 1 bid period. Many of the yes voters here assured me that the company would apply the same rules to Special Temporary Vacancies that apply to Temporary Vacancies which is why they voted yes. Not to worry our CE will go to bat for us.

As a guy closer to the bottom than most, I wonder how big the bat is and if they've been to the cages lately.

Thx for the clarification, FDXLAG.

You mean the same Union (Contract Enforcement) that has no interest in my Passover pay (or lack there of) due to someone junior to me going to training before me.. Ya.. Right...

From what I read in another thread, I thought that FedEx was short 757 FOs in MEM. I guess the pressing need is to fill the FDAs but if they have no takers, why wouldn't they fill the classes with guys willing to go to MEM if they are, in fact, short. Still haven't seen the window open up on Pilot Credentials for new apps.

They can play some games with the MEM FO numbers but the FDA slots are smaller bases with less wiggle room. That said I am sure they are hiring to the MEM F/O slots, like anything else the sales pitch is for the hard to fill slots. Have you ever talked to an Air Force recruiter?

Doesn't that same LOA also say "STVs shall only be available for the first two years after each FDA opens?" The FDA has been open for well over 2 years.

I found the LOA on the internet for CGN. Can some one clarify the housing allowance. It states "a minimum of $3,500 per month". This means to me if your rent is less then $3,500 you keep the difference. Would like to hear from someone who has lived there if possible.

Also while in CGN, do you get the $7 per/hr International Override pay?
