Well, shoot. I missed another post from last year. Searching for F-16 is the key... Looks like single engine fighter time counts towards the 1500 hour requirement. Excellent.

Corporate

Hello all,

Quick question for everyone here. Fedex is where I would like to end up in the future. Memphis is home for me and I am trying to work my way towards purple. I am shy 300 hours of PIC time and that is currently what I hope is stopping me.

My question is simply does anyone know about Corporate Fedex?

I would like to possibly work there and gain the 2 year option that is given to move into Fedex.

DMs would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

I have never heard of a guaranteed move to FedEx from corporate. I believe that you get a chance to interview for FedEx, but no job guarantee.

Also, if you don't have the recommended PIC time after 2 years at corporate, I don't think you would get an interview until you reached the recommended levels.

If you want to fly for corporate, then go for it. Just don't assume it is a golden ticket to get to FedEx.

Hello, Livetofly. I know for a fact that this was possible in the past as 3 of my newhire classmates had come from the corporate side of the house and interviewed as "internal hires". I think that option still is exists.
Best of luck to you,
fbh

I’ve heard that it’s five years now. I don’t believe there’s any guarantee but I imagine being an ‘internal’ candidate scores pretty high.

One of the guys in the most recent new hire class was on the corporate side for 3yrs. Also flies heavies in the air guard, so I’m sure that helped as well.

The mins are the same for the Corp side as they are for cargo..I thought I might be able to get in without the PIC on corp side, but no luck.

Another dude here who interviewed last spring, was passed on, and have recently been offered another chance. Hope that’s encouraging news for others who didn’t get a CJO for whatever reason.

I’m looking for lessons learned from anyone who was able to nail down the CJO on their second look. For the record when I interviewed last year I was a 121 guy with ~2 years flying the A320, former USAF & current ANG heavy guy with competitive times, and had done prep with RST and ECIC.

So I just literally got a invite to interview and I have no idea what to do to prepare. Says interviews in a week...if I can
