Default FDX Jan 15 B fund contribution

I was checking my Vanguard account tonight and noticed I have not had any B fund contributions in 2015 yet. I checked last year and there was a contribution 06 Jan 14. Anyone else missing theirs or know why this would be missing?

Mine was on 1/7/15. Give them a call.

You are most likely the casualty of all that extra pay you earned, which maxed out your B fund contributions for 2014, prior to December. Once you reached $260,000...No more B fund contribution.

Is that correct, no more B fund contribution after 260K? I didn't realize that. I hope they raise the amount in the next contract, as there are a lot of people earning more than that.

You're correct, Bus, but I thought the number is closer to 240K. Not sure though.

The correct limit for 2014 is 260K and 265K for 2015.

"The Internal Revenue Code provides for dollar limitations on benefits and contributions under qualified retirement plans. Code §415 requires the limits to be adjusted annually for cost-of-living increases. The IRS announced on October 31, 2013 cost-of-living adjustments applicable to dollar limitations for pension plans and other items for tax year 2014."

Guess I should pay more attention to my 401K, I never noticed. Amazing all the things I've learned on APC.

I had a feeling that was the case. Third year as a WB capt and first time I have hit the $260k mark. With the new contract it should be easy to hit it from now on! HA HA

This discussion is about B fund, not 401k.

Am I screwing up the terminology? I thought everything was considered 401K contributions. B fund contributions (ie Pilots Money Purchase Pension Plan), individual contributions (Retirement Savings Plan). Is that not all designated as 401K money?
