Default Worth Consideration

The ANC LEC 79 Vice-Chairman has published two articles on 9/28 and today 10/7.

Informative and well organized contract review on Section 3 Compensation and Section 24 Filling of Vacancies.

http://fdx.alpa.org/tabid/9205/Default.aspx

The NC has not provided this analysis or level of disclosure. Well done to DC in ANC!

The more we learn about the details, the less appealing the TA becomes. It just gets worse by the day but that's my opinion. It's also unfortunate that members of different LECs are not provided this info directly. One must become a union member archaeologist and dig for it.

FYI - Mesa and Air Wisconsin pilots rejected their respective TAs according to an ALPA email comm update today. They join Delta in the rejection of inadequate TAs.

Our ALPA brethren know what they're worth at different carriers.

86% against at Mesa.

67% against at Air Wisconsin.

It seems like ALPA National is still living in 2005, not 2015, which explains the approval of our TA to be sent out for ratification as well.

If our TA is rejected, I believe our MEC Chairman's words would be very similar to the Mesa MEC's: "It's clear that this agreement did not meet the goals and expectations of the vast majority of this pilot group... No matter the results, we are extremely pleased with the number of pilots who came to road shows, asked questions, and fully participated in every part of this process. We will now work to bring the pilots an agreement that fully recognizes our contributions to this airline." And guess what? Life continues. No stepping off into the void, no chaos. Just work, hard work, necessary work, work that is worth the extra effort.

None of this had to happen.
The MEC knew it was a MARGINAL deal and still sent it to the crew force. THEY all knew it. After review of the TA (if you've actually done it), WE all know it.

That's enough to question the judgment of every MEC "yes" voter. My wish is the crewmembers on the fence are inspired and empowered by the actions of other pilots within ALPA. They've stood their ground and said NO. Hell NO.
Not good enough. Go back to work and show us a deal to be proud of.

TA1 is not that document.

An important item that I never see discussed is the fact that FEDEX pilots flying 757s on the same routes to the same cities make significantly less than the UPS pilots flying 757s on the exact same schedules. FDX gets you guys at a 30% discount compared to UPS.

Are you trying to derail this thread with an in depth discussion between FDXLAG and Brownie? They have gone back and forth on this probably a dozen times.

Watch out, you just might be reclining 179 degrees in coach....
Which is still less painful than a Jumpseat, I admit.

Nope only on 4A2b. He/She/It does not understand that reducing hours is not the same as reducing rates.
